Our new stools and floor cushions have already made a meaningful difference. Students now have the freedom to choose seating that helps them focus and feel comfortable, whether they're working at a table, collaborating with a partner, or settling in for independent reading. One of my favorite moments was during a recent small-group literacy activity: students naturally gathered on the cushions, leaning in to discuss the text and share ideas. The flexible seating encouraged conversation, engagement, and a sense of community in a way that traditional seating never quite did.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the stools and cushions, their excitement was immediate and contagious. There were smiles, gasps, and lots of careful testing to find the \"just right\" spot. Many students expressed how the new seating made the classroom feel more welcoming and comfortable, and several shared that it helped them concentrate and feel calmer during learning time. It was clear they felt seen and valued by having choices that met their individual needs.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, our next steps include using this flexible seating during an upcoming project where students will rotate through learning stations focused on reading, writing, and collaborative problem-solving. The stools and cushions will allow students to move seamlessly between activities while staying engaged and comfortable. Your support has helped create a classroom environment where students are excited to learn, feel supported, and are empowered to do their best every day. Thank you for giving our students a space that truly works for them.","fullyFundedDate":1769191999958,"projectUrl":"project/stools-cushions-for-classroom/10030773/","projectTitle":"Stools & Cushions for Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Szabo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8498127"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_105664","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":142,"numTeachers":25,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":38,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":59,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"5.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":74.4,"schoolId":105664,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Hope Community Charter School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Hope Community Charter School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-jersey/new-jersey-department-of-education/hope-community-charter-school/105664"}
