They rightfully choose to use the funding on buses for museum trips and other activities to enrich their lives as well as introduce them to other perspectives.\r\n.\r\n\r\nThese supplies also help me so that I can use my funds on the resources to provide more engagement and develop lessons that they will remember. The basic needs are what matters to me. Pencils, pens, colored markers and rulers help the students to complete projects. One student created a poster for a competition and is now a finalist to win recognition as well as possible money. To promote literacy in our MLLs, I have lead tutoring sessions for students who have scored below a 3 on the WIDA test. \r\n\r\nEver since using these new materials, student scores for reading have skyrocketed, especially in our MLLs reading scores (tested via NWEA's MAP assessment). Th vocabulary section has seen a significant increase in growth for our MLLs as well.
