Students love to move and learn. this is not always possible with math. Sometimes we have to sit a practice. Flexible seating allows them to move and work! They can get out energy, while learning. Studies have shown that the brain works best when the body is moving! This also helps to keep an engaged inclusion class working well! We have several students in our classes with learning disabilities, to include Autism and ADHD/ADD. Flexible seating allows for them to learn in a total school environment! All kids need to move while the learn. This can cut down on common behaviors that may disrupt the learning environment. This will cut down on students needing to miss class for disciplinary reasons. Students cannot learn, if they are not in class. Each student will have their own bounce chair. I have 26 students in each class at times. They will also have the option to sit in other flexible options that I will provide. This allows them some ownership of their learning. Students will not have to change their learning based on how we teach, we need to teach how they learn!
