Your donations of essential classroom supplies—including the markers, pencils, copy paper, tape, highlighters, pens, and paper clips—has made a meaningful difference in our everyday learning environment. These may seem like simple supplies, but in a classroom, they are tools that allow students to learn, create, practice, collaborate, and express themselves without having to worry about whether we have the materials we need.\r\n\r\nI am especially grateful for the outdoor play equipment you provided, the dodgeballs, kickballs, footballs, basketballs, soccer balls, and Wiffle balls were all useful. My students, particularly those ages 10 and up, have been able to enjoy being active, working together, developing teamwork and sportsmanship, and simply having fun with their classmates.\r\n\r\nOne example that truly stands out is seeing students who may not always participate together during the school day come together during outdoor play. With the new sports equipment, students have been able to organize their own games of football, basketball, soccer, and dodgeball. I have watched students encourage classmates, teach one another how to play, take turns, and celebrate each other's successes. Something as simple as having a football or soccer ball available can turn an ordinary afternoon into an opportunity for students to build friendships, confidence, teamwork, and a sense of belonging.\r\n\r\nThe classroom supplies have created similar moments. Having enough pencils, markers, paper, and other materials means that students can immediately participate in classroom activities rather than having to wait or share limited supplies. This allows them to focus on what matters most—learning and being creative.\r\n\r\n\r\nI sincerely hope that we may have the opportunity to receive your support again in the future, if possible. Continued donations would allow us to provide even more meaningful learning experiences, classroom resources, and opportunities for our students to learn, play, and grow.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students, supporting educators, and making a positive difference in our school community. Your generosity reaches far beyond the supplies themselves—it reaches the students who use them and the memories they create along the way.\r\n\r\nMr. Michael Prado\r\nFifth grade Math Teacher\r\nAbraham Lincoln School No. 6\r\nGarfield, New Jersey","fullyFundedDate":1777287070758,"projectUrl":"project/the-basics-build-success-everyday-tools/10114211/","projectTitle":"The Basics Build Success: Everyday Tools for 5th Grade Confidence","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Prado","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10412882_orig.jpg?crop=271,271,x278,y38&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1771646305092","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10412882"},{"teacherId":9967803,"projectId":10095085,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our students now have access to speech therapy and sensory support materials that are making a meaningful difference every day. These books have allowed us to strengthen essential reading skills such as identifying characters, setting, and plot, making predictions, asking and answering questions, and building vocabulary in meaningful ways. Students are also practicing deeper comprehension skills like retelling, making connections, and thinking about the author's purpose. Having books that they are genuinely excited about has made these lessons come to life in a way that feels natural and joyful.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom has completely transformed. You can walk in and see students fully immersed—reading independently, partnering up to discuss their books, and eagerly sharing their thoughts during discussions. We incorporate small group instruction, independent reading time, and partner work so every student is supported at their level. The best part is that students are choosing to read even outside of assigned time—they ask for extra reading time and can't wait to get their hands on the next book in a series.\r\n\r\nWhat's been most special is seeing the impact on individual students. Some of my more reluctant readers, who previously struggled to stay engaged, are now excited to pick up books and proudly share what they've read. Others are building confidence by challenging themselves with new genres and higher-level texts. These books have truly created a space where every child can see themselves as a reader. Your support has not only helped grow their academic skills, but has sparked a genuine love of reading that will stay with them far beyond our classroom. When the students first saw the materials, their faces lit up with excitement, and even our most reluctant speakers were eager to participate.
