These resources allow us to practice important independent living, workplace, and daily living skills in a real-world setting. Our students are learning how to prepare beverages, organize supplies, clean up after themselves, and work together to maintain our classroom coffee station.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the students were excited to see everything come together! Having these supplies makes our classroom feel more like a real workplace and gives students something practical to take ownership of. The refrigerator also helps us safely store supplies and keep everything organized as we continue building our classroom coffee cart.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue developing the coffee cart as a student-run learning experience. Students will practice taking orders, communicating professionally, handling money, preparing drinks, and working collaboratively as a team. We will also use these materials to reinforce responsibility, organization, hygiene, and workplace expectations. These resources are helping us create meaningful opportunities for students to build confidence and develop skills they can carry with them into adulthood.\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful to our donors for helping make these experiences possible. Several quietly said \"thank you\" right away, and a few shared how helpful it was to know they wouldn't have to worry if they forgot something at home. What stood out most was the sense of relief — students realized they had support without having to ask publicly or feel embarrassed. It created an immediate sense of dignity and care in our classroom community.\r\n We are currently incorporating conversations about self-care, responsibility, and preparation into our advisory and life skills lessons.
