They were especially elated to learn that we were gifted three brand new sewing machines! The unboxing with them was epic. Now we have a working sewing machine for each member of the class. This is a real blessing , both because our current machines are getting old and because the students are very aware of our district's current budget shortfall. \r\nThe sewing class has benefited greatly not only from the sewing machines, but also from all the other small tools such as (sharp!) scissors, seam rippers, sewing and machine needles, and sewing maintenance tools. The cooking classes are thrilled to use the laser thermometer, digital scale, pastry bag, as well as all the other tools that really elevate our program beyond a \"bare-bones\" family and consumer science kitchen. They love using the tools that are available to professionals, which I have seen pique the interest of more than a few students to pursue careers and further education in the culinary arts.\r\nAgain, I and the students are profoundly grateful for all the donations that have come in for this project. The bean bag chairs are a blessing. The students find it so much easier to work, read or just sit and talk when they are comfortable. The string lights allow us to turn off some of the overhead lights that are hard on the eyes.\r\n The fidgets, putty and clay make wonderful additions. Sometimes all you need is a pile of playdough to destress. The students were thrilled when they saw what was in the boxes.\r\n Your generous donation helped make a big dent in my plans for this room.
