It took me a few days to get everyone's chairs fitted with the new equipment, and they were all itching to get their chairs done. \r\n\r\nI wanted bands for my students' chairs because elastic sensory bands attached to the front legs of fourth-grade students' chairs provide a simple, effective way for students to channel physical energy while staying seated. Many children naturally need to move, and the gentle resistance of the bands gives them an outlet to stretch, push, or bounce their feet without disrupting the class. This controlled movement helps meet their sensory needs, allowing them to release excess energy in a purposeful, manageable way.\r\n\r\nThe bands also serve as a discreet and calming tool. Students who need to fidget can do so subtly, without drawing attention to themselves or feeling self-conscious. The steady physical feedback from the elastic material has a soothing, grounding effect that can help reduce anxiety or restlessness. As a result, the sensory bands support not only improved attention, but also a more relaxed, self-regulated learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe tennis balls have totally changed our transition periods, by keeping our classroom quiet and tranquil. Placing tennis balls on the legs of classroom chairs helps significantly reduce the scraping and dragging noises that occur when students move their seats. This quieter environment supports better concentration, especially for students who are sensitive to sound or easily distracted. With fewer interruptions and less background noise, students are better able to stay focused during lessons, listen to instructions, and engage more fully in their work.\r\nThank you so much for donating to my students.","fullyFundedDate":1762267527928,"projectUrl":"project/peace-and-tranquility/9593699/","projectTitle":"Peace and Tranquility","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Fenchel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3413147_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y93&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753447328226","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/k-fenchel"},{"teacherId":6352413,"projectId":9567803,"letterContent":"Thank you! \r\nBecause of your generosity, my project, \"Let's Build, Make, and Create: STEAM in Action!\", was fully funded, transforming our classroom into a vibrant, hands-on learning laboratory. The \"Allowance Game,\" is teaching my students that the financial choices they make inpact them, and future decisions they will have to make with the amount of money they have on hand. It also reinforces their addition and subtraction skills, because they have to make change and not rely on technology for the calculations. The Fraction and Volume games, and the Volume manipulatives are providing my students with hands on experience to construct their learning and understanding of new concepts presented in fourth grade. \r\n\r\nThe other materials that I requested such as the color markers, pencils, dry erase markers, Sharpie Markers are used daily by my students to enhance and facilitate their learning. The amount of materials consumed by twenty-two students on a weekly basis is impressive because as we as adults understand these materials are exhausted rapidly. I also requested a rubber ball for my classroom which we use on a regular basis for movement breaks, this allow my students to be centered and refocused on the learnning after they have moved their bodies. \r\n\r\nUnquestionably the the opportunities that Donors Choose provdes to educators impacts the learning of students. However, the generous donations you as individuals and more directly, The Charles Schwab Foundation have made a positive impact on my students learning in this 2026-2026 school year.
