These resources are being used daily to meet students' immediate needs, allowing them to engage more fully in counseling sessions and return to class better prepared to learn. One powerful moment was seeing a student visibly relax and open up during a counseling visit after receiving support they needed—once their basic need was met, they were able to focus on strategies for managing emotions and setting academic goals.\r\n\r\nStudents' reactions have been filled with relief and gratitude. Knowing they can come to the counseling office and be supported without judgment has helped students feel safe, valued, and cared for. Many students show improved emotional regulation and reduced anxiety after accessing these resources, which positively impacts their behavior, attendance, and ability to concentrate in class. Meeting basic needs has proven to be a critical first step in helping students feel secure enough to engage in learning and personal growth.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, our next steps include continuing to remove barriers that prevent students from fully participating in school. We are building on this foundation by helping students develop coping skills, resilience, and confidence through ongoing counseling and academic support. Your contribution is helping create a school environment where students can show up ready to learn, grow, and succeed. We are deeply grateful for your compassion and belief in our students' potential.","fullyFundedDate":1767976426599,"projectUrl":"project/equal-start/9986462/","projectTitle":"Equal Start","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Johnson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9280732"},{"teacherId":9283885,"projectId":8844863,"letterContent":"Reading is a foundational skill, yet its importance in the crucial middle school years cannot be overstated. As students transition from learning to read to reading to learn, their ability to engage with complex texts directly impacts their success across all subjects, from science to history. Beyond academic performance, reading widely during these formative years helps students develop critical thinking skills, expand their vocabulary, and gain empathy by experiencing diverse perspectives. \r\n\r\nFurthermore, your support enables essential literacy programs, regardless of their background or reading level. By investing in middle school literacy, you are not just funding books; you are empowering the next generation of critical thinkers, innovators, and engaged citizens. We sincerely thank you for your contribution, this is making a difference and will help our students to choose a pick a successful career in their future.","fullyFundedDate":1728002648127,"projectUrl":"project/deja-volar-tu-imaginacion/8844863/","projectTitle":"Deja Volar Tu Imaginacion","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Calvo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9283885_orig.jpg?crop=2062,2062,x0,y357&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727729555533","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9283885"},{"teacherId":9350584,"projectId":9481196,"letterContent":"I can't begin to describe my gratitude and appreciation for the science materials you provided for my classroom. \r\nMy students have intellectual disabilities, or other significant disabilities, and they are taught in a mostly self contained classroom basic math and reading and writing.
