In addition, I have extra curriculum materials to help improve how I reach students with specific learning disabilities.\r\n\r\nI love being able to motivate students through positive reinforcement. Who doesn't look forward to earning something after working hard? I think most students do, even though some are satisfied with praise alone. It's nice to have options such as squishy toys, stickers, and special erasers.\r\n\r\nMany students are required to sit in one place for long periods of time. Additionally, quite a few are diagnosed with ADHD and need something in their hands or at their feet to help them focus on their learning. It could be a bounce band attached to the legs of a chair, a wiggle cushion, or a chew necklace to help with nervous habits.\r\n\r\nI would love to understand more about my students with specific learning disabilities, such as dyslexia, and the books that I received through DonorsChoose will help me become more informed.
