The lessons are easy to follow, and students learn quickly how to make their robots move. \r\nI used to have to have 3-4 students per robot kit but now I am able to put students in groups of two which give more students a chance to learn how to program the robots.\r\n\r\nMy students were so excited to see the new LEGO SPIKE PRIME kits because they like using the larger hubs in the SPIKE PRIME kits. The snacks and prizes you provided have become an important part of our classroom community through our ticket exchange system. Students earn tickets for positive behavior, effort, and responsibility, and being able to \"shop\" for rewards has been incredibly motivating. In a Title I school like ours, many students do not have regular access to treats or small prizes, so your contributions have helped create a more equitable and encouraging environment where all students can feel recognized and celebrated.\r\n\r\nYour support also extended beyond behavior incentives and into our learning experiences. Students were able to use some of the donated supplies to create their own game boards during our arts integration project in March. This hands-on activity allowed them to apply their learning in a creative and engaging way, while also building collaboration and problem-solving skills. With the new materials—and especially the demo camera—we've been able to shift from \"watch from a distance\" to \"see every detail up close.\" During live demonstrations, students can now clearly follow brush techniques, clay construction methods, and layering in acrylic painting in real time. It's made a huge difference. Instead of repeating directions or having students crowd around, everyone has a front-row view, and they're actually applying techniques more accurately in their own work. We used this setup right away in a mixed-media unit where students moved between acrylic painting and clay forms, and the quality of their craftsmanship noticeably improved.\r\n\r\nThe students love the demo camera. It sounds simple, but it changed their engagement overnight. They were more focused, asked better questions, and took more risks because they felt confident in what they were trying. The refreshed materials also gave them a reset—better brushes, workable clay, and reliable paint meant fewer frustrations and more time actually creating. That shift matters. It turned what could have been a stop-and-go process into something fluid and exciting.\r\n\r\nNext, we're building on this by pushing into more advanced techniques and longer-form projects. Students are starting to combine acrylic and sculpture into cohesive pieces, thinking more intentionally about composition, texture, and meaning. The demo camera will continue to be a core tool as we move into more complex demonstrations—things that simply wouldn't be effective without that level of visibility. Using the materials you provided, students designed and built life-sized figure sculptures—starting with armatures made from recycled newspaper and wrapping them tightly to form the body. From there, they made creative decisions about posture, proportion, and expression. What started as a pile of plastic wrap and paper became full human forms that now live in our hallways as part of a larger installation. It pushed students to think in three dimensions, problem-solve constantly, and collaborate in a way that doesn't happen with flat artwork.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, there was a mix of confusion and excitement—most of them had never built anything like this before. But once they got started, they were hooked. They kept saying things like, \"Wait, this actually looks like a person,\" and you could see their confidence grow as the forms came together. The moment we installed the figures in the hallway was the payoff—students from all grade levels stopped, stared, and asked how they were made. My students got to experience what it feels like to create something that others notice and talk about.\r\n\r\nNext, we're building on this by transforming the figures into more expressive, finished works. Students are adding surface details, color, and storytelling elements—turning them into characters that communicate ideas, emotions, or social commentary. This project opened the door to sculpture in a way that felt accessible and exciting, and now they're ready to push it further. We focus on helping students not only learn how to read, but also develop a genuine love for books and storytelling.\r\nThe addition of these new books has made a meaningful impact on our classroom. Students are excited to explore different genres, topics, and characters that reflect their interests. Many eagerly choose books during independent reading time and are more motivated to stay engaged for longer periods. It has been especially rewarding to see students who were previously hesitant about reading become more confident and enthusiastic as they discover stories they connect with.\r\nSeveral students have stood out in their excitement for the new books, often asking for extra reading time or sharing their favorite parts with classmates. They enjoy discussing characters, making predictions, and recommending books to one another.
