These resources have made a real difference in our STEM lab. Our younger students especially love the magnetic tiles and use them to design towers, bridges, and all kinds of creative structures while learning about balance and engineering concepts.\r\n\r\nOur 3rd–5th graders have been working in small groups coding the Artie 3000 robot. Many of them already had a foundation from Code.org, and it has been really rewarding to see them apply those skills in a new way by coding outside of that platform. Watching their code come to life as the robot draws and moves has been a highlight for many students.\r\n\r\nThe classroom headphones have also been cherished by students and help them stay focused during digital activities. I have labeled and numbered each set so students can take responsibility for caring for them, and so far none have been broken—which is a big accomplishment considering the STEM lab serves every student in the building each week. My K–3 small groups now have their own All-In-One Magnetic Phonics Kits, which we use daily to practice letter sounds and build words. One student who is usually easily distracted becomes fully engaged with the magnets, and a kindergarten student is making stronger visual connections by manipulating the letters. These hands on tools have increased focus, participation, and confidence during our lessons.\r\nMy students were excited to have materials of their own and often express gratitude knowing these kits were donated for them. The students loved the book so much! During our reading period everyone was silently reading in their favorite places around the room. Many students asked to take them home and with several copies I was able to allow this! I even had a few who finished quickly and started in on the rest of the series!\r\nWe compared and contrasted Doon and Lina's experiences in the City. We did an experiment with turbine energy. We even discussed the morality of the Founders choice not tell the citizens the truth of why they built the city. We finished off the book with a viewing of the film. The stark differences had students rapidly scribbling notes about what was lost in the translation! Having easy access to these tools keeps lessons dynamic and helps students stay motivated and excited to learn.\r\n\r\nMy students are most excited about seeing their own work printed and displayed around the classroom—it gives them a sense of pride and ownership in their learning! They also love listening to music and stories through the new speakers, which make transitions and group activities more enjoyable and engaging. It truly brings the classroom to life.\r\n\r\nMy quieter students, who might not always participate verbally, have become more engaged through the use of music, sounds, and visual materials made possible by the printer and speakers. They're more eager to share their printed work and participate in class discussions. This tablet quickly became an essential part of our classroom toolkit. One of the biggest game changers was the ability to wirelessly cast lessons to our Smartboard. I used it daily to navigate digital lessons while moving around the room, keeping students focused and engaged. The tablet also allowed us to access McGraw Hill's Augmented Reality features in our social studies and science units—suddenly, explorers, ecosystems, and even the solar system felt like they were right there in the classroom with us!\r\n\r\nWhat excited my students most was how interactive and hands-on learning became. They especially loved using the tablet during our \"Earth's Place in the Universe\" PLTW module to explore AR models of the planets and moon phases. One student who usually stayed quiet during discussions began volunteering to help set up the tablet and lead AR demos—beaming with confidence. Even students who typically struggle with attention stayed locked in during these lessons.
