One moment was when students used the materials to create posters connected to our vocabulary wall. They worked collaboratively to gather information, organize their ideas, and post their findings on the wall. Having access to these updated tools made it easier for students to dive deeper into the content and take real ownership of their learning. The quality of their discussions and final projects noticeably improved because they were excited and better equipped to explore Math topics.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, their faces lit up with excitement. They immediately began asking if they could start using them that same day. Several students carefully explored each item, talking about how it would help them with their projects. Their enthusiasm reminded me how powerful it is for students to feel supported with resources that are just for them.\r\n\r\nThanks to our generous donors, we're now moving into the next unit of Geometry, and they are going to love to use the new materials to make shapes and learn how to find area, perimeter, and volume. They will make new posters and examples, helping them and others learn what to do when presented with a problem using shapes. These next steps will help strengthen their communication skills and confidence, and your support is making that growth possible every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1768747413008,"projectUrl":"project/its-not-rocket-science-its-middle-sch/10032289/","projectTitle":"It's Not Rocket Science, it's Middle School Math.","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Merrill","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8560712"},{"teacherId":8922320,"projectId":9206042,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting Flexible Seating for Focus & Fun: Engaging Learners in Comfort. Because of your generosity, our classroom now offers students comfortable, flexible seating options that support both focus and enjoyment during learning time.\r\n\r\nWe are using the new seating daily across lessons, especially during independent reading, small-group work, and quiet reflection time. Students choose seating that helps them stay focused—whether they need a cozy spot to read, a flexible option to move while thinking, or a calm space to work independently.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new seating, they were thrilled and eager to try everything. Many asked if flexible seating meant we could \"learn like this every day.\" The excitement quickly turned into meaningful engagement. Students settled in faster, stayed on task longer, and showed greater ownership of their learning environment.\r\n\r\nOne memorable moment was watching students independently select a seat, gather their materials, and begin working without prompting. The room felt calm, focused, and joyful—learning felt comfortable rather than forced.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue using flexible seating as we build reading stamina, collaborate on small-group projects, and practice self-regulation during learning time. These resources have become an essential part of our classroom routine, helping students understand how comfort, choice, and focus work together to support learning.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students an environment where they can feel comfortable, confident, and excited to learn every day","fullyFundedDate":1746973666290,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating-for-focus-fun-engagi/9206042/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating for Focus & Fun: Engaging Learners in Comfort!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Nunez Flores","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8922320"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_96008","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":674,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":40,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":51,"percentIndigenous":3,"percentLatinx":39,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"5 - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"19.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":58.8,"schoolId":96008,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Flag View Intermediate School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Flag View Intermediate School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/nevada/elko-county-school-district/flagview-intermediate-school/96008"}
