Your generous support through DonorsChoose means more than you know. Because of you, our classroom is becoming an even more welcoming, engaging, and empowering space for our students. These are young adults with disabilities who are working hard every day to build the skills they need for life after high school.\r\n\r\nThanks to your kindness, our students now have cozy seating options like a floor rocker and a comfy high-back rocking chair that help them feel calm and focused during lessons. The bubble lamp, colorful floor lights, and neon sign you helped fund have transformed our room into a space that feels joyful, sensory-friendly, and full of energy. Our new yoga mats and mindfulness materials are already helping students take breaks, move their bodies, and reset when they need it.\r\n\r\nWe're also so excited about the new workbooks that cover life skills, job readiness, social skills, and community-based learning. I'm especially looking forward to using them to bring more engaging ideas into our daily lessons and support our students in meaningful and creative ways. These resources are already helping our students build confidence in communication, independence, and preparing for work.\r\n\r\nThe hydroponic garden kit will be such a fun hands-on project that teaches responsibility and teamwork. With the kitchen tools you provided, students will get to practice real-life tasks like cutting and prepping food, which are huge steps toward independence.\r\n\r\nEven picking up the mail, opening the boxes, organizing the supplies, and helping put things together was a learning experience for every single student. They were so excited to be part of the process from unboxing materials to setting up our new spaces. Everyone had a role, and they took pride in helping get these tools up and running. It made them feel like this wasn't just a delivery. It was theirs. Their classroom, their tools, their future.\r\n\r\nThe little things make a big difference too. The speakers are bringing music and energy into our routines. The large storage basket is helping us stay organized. Even the Play-Doh has become a great tool for practicing fine motor skills. The National Geographic atlases are sparking curiosity and conversations in ways that surprise us every day.\r\n\r\nOur students are amazing. They're determined, kind, and capable of so much. Your support shows them that there are people out there who believe in them. You didn't just give us supplies. You gave us opportunities. You helped us create a space that truly feels like it belongs to them. And for that, I can't thank you enough.","fullyFundedDate":1745847065150,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-futures-hands-on-learning-/9190412/","projectTitle":"Empowering Futures: Hands-On Learning & Life Skills for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McRae","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8276088_orig.jpg?crop=2540,2540,x130,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724362637489","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8276088"},{"teacherId":8192648,"projectId":9124844,"letterContent":"Thanks to your support, students at our school are writing with sharp new pencils, complete with fun erasers and colorful sharpeners. Your contribution has made an incredible impact, and I am excited to share how your support is transforming our classroom.\r\n\r\nThanks to your donation, we were able to bring in materials for our coffee cart, art supplies, communication tools, games, books, and other items to make our new classroom (workroom) feel more comfortable. The excitement was palpable the moment we unpacked the boxes! My students' eyes lit up when they saw the new materials—it was as though they had received a gift that would help them unlock new possibilities. They were thrilled to know that people in their community supported both the PAC program and them as individuals.\r\n\r\nOne of the first projects we tackled with these resources was expanding their coffee cart business, which serves teachers and staff in the school district. They walked in with newfound confidence, presenting new materials, more options for customers, and a more professional-looking display. This project has sparked a renewed sense of pride and excitement in their work.\r\n\r\nIt's clear that these new materials have not only increased their confidence but also sparked their curiosity and a greater enthusiasm for learning and working.\r\n\r\nYour donation has truly transformed our classroom (workroom), and we are deeply grateful for your support.
