When the materials first arrived, the excitement was immediate. Students were especially thrilled about the treasure box items and glitter squishes, which have become meaningful motivators and rewards for their hard work and positive behavior. The swivel chair has created a flexible seating option that helps students who need movement stay focused during lessons, while the storage baskets have made our classroom more organized and accessible, allowing us to maximize our learning time.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThese resources have supported both academic growth and student well-being. The mango snack bars help ensure my students can stay energized and focused, especially during long learning blocks. Hygiene items like lotion and deodorant have made a noticeable difference in students' confidence and comfort, allowing them to feel more secure and ready to participate. Additionally, the Swiffer and dusters have helped us maintain a clean and welcoming classroom environment, which we take pride in together as a community.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nOne moment that stood out was seeing a student who typically struggles with focus choose the swivel chair and remain engaged throughout an entire lesson. It was a small change with a big impact. Moving forward, these materials will continue to support our daily routines, behavior goals, and classroom community. Thanks to you, my students feel cared for, motivated, and excited to learn. My students were so excited when the classroom carpet arrived, knowing they helped pick it out, it is fun and they are now able to sit on it with their lap desks.\r\n\r\nThese materials also allow for my students to do activities face-to-face in the classroom, which is so important with foundational skills of kindergarten and for their first year experience. With the addition of these social-emotional learning (SEL) resources, this has helped shift from reactive discipline to proactive support. Tools like weighted calming items, structured SEL curricula, and targeted book sets give students concrete ways to regulate their emotions, process difficult experiences, and re-engage in learning. \r\n\r\nThe books and materials funded through this project also have created opportunities for meaningful connection and reflection. Through guided discussions, small group work, and individualized support, students can see their own experiences reflected in stories about anxiety, grief, neurodivergence, and resilience. This builds emotional vocabulary, reduces feelings of isolation, and strengthens peer relationships. At the same time, sensory tools like weighted plush items provide immediate regulation support, allowing students to stay in the classroom longer and access instruction more consistently.\r\n\r\nThe long-term impact extends far beyond behavior management. These resources help students develop critical life skills—self-regulation, empathy, problem-solving, and emotional awareness—that influence their academic success and overall well-being. By equipping students with these tools early, we are not only improving their day-to-day school experience, but also supporting their ability to navigate challenges independently in the future. This is how we turn moments of crisis into opportunities for growth.","fullyFundedDate":1769177569128,"projectUrl":"project/school-psych-starter-kit/9996020/","projectTitle":"School Psych Starter Kit","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Beem","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10399713_orig.jpg?crop=683,683,x11,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1777326886950","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10399713"},{"teacherId":8117504,"projectId":10024042,"letterContent":"The new materials have transformed my office into a true sanctuary for our students. From the moment they walk in for a check-in, the magnetic tiles and the emotion pineapple serve as immediate bridges for communication; the pineapple, in particular, has become a beloved conversation starter that allows students to \"show\" how they feel when words are hard to find. We have also seen a remarkable shift in social dynamics during our small group sessions. Using the interactive games and building toys, students are naturally collaborating and practicing teamwork, which creates a comfortable environment where they feel safe talking through their personal challenges.\r\n\r\nBeyond social-emotional growth, these donations are providing vital physical and instructional support. Our lower elementary groups have begun exploring the instructional activity books to build their emotional vocabulary, while the Zones of Regulation poster serves as a constant, clear visual guide for students to self-identify their moods. Additionally, the nutritional support has provided a massive morale boost; although state testing hasn't started, the students are already buzzing with excitement knowing that snacks are waiting for them at the finish line. Your generosity has truly provided the tactile and nutritional \"fuel\" our students need to succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1768669814480,"projectUrl":"project/calm-minds-full-bellies-bright-futures/10024042/","projectTitle":"Calm Minds, Full Bellies, Bright Futures","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Stefka","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8117504"},{"teacherId":6556784,"projectId":9995396,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for you generous donation. Something that I really believe is an essential part of early education is the skill of getting, being and staying organized. With the help of this project we have been able to designate bins for all of our rotations as well as free times tools. With these bins I have been able to almost completely remove myself from the process of getting bins out and putting them away because students have learned how to organize them. \r\n In addition the help of the mini fridge has helped us expand our snack diversity. Students now can store and have snacks like yogurts and juices. This has really upped our snack game! \r\n Things like the cube shelf, the rolling desk, and the rolling cart have given me spaces and resources to be extremely organized as their teacher as well.
