Because of your donation, our youngest learners now have access to math manipulatives and iPad with Apple Pencil that are helping them grow in exciting and meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nAt this early stage, learning is all about exploration and hands-on experiences. The math manipulatives you provided allow my students to touch, sort, count, and build—turning foundational math skills into playful, engaging activities. They are learning to recognize numbers, create patterns, and solve simple problems through discovery and movement, which is exactly how young children learn best.\r\n\r\nThe iPad and Apple Pencil have also opened up a world of interactive learning. My students are using it to practice tracing shapes, drawing numbers, and exploring educational apps that build early math and fine motor skills. \r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting is seeing their confidence grow. Students who were once hesitant are now eager to participate, try new things, and share their work. These tools have made learning joyful, accessible, and engaging for every child in our classroom.\r\n\r\nYour generosity is giving my students a strong foundation at a critical time in their development. While many donors are familiar with technology at home, in our classroom these tools and resources are used to spark curiosity, build critical thinking, and encourage hands-on exploration. The books have helped strengthen reading skills and foster a love of storytelling, while the STEM materials allow students to apply what they learn in real, meaningful ways—designing, building, testing, and improving their ideas.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most is the opportunity to learn by doing. Instead of just reading about science or engineering concepts, they can actively explore them through projects and experiments. The materials have made lessons more engaging and interactive, helping students collaborate, problem-solve, and think creatively. Even students who were once hesitant to participate are now eager to join in, share ideas, and take risks in their learning.\r\n\r\nI've seen several students especially thrive with these new resources. Some who struggled to stay focused during traditional lessons are now fully engaged during STEM activities, showing persistence and pride in their work. Others have discovered new interests and strengths, particularly in building and designing. Your support has truly opened doors for my students, giving them opportunities to grow academically and develop confidence in their abilities. Because of your generosity, my students now have access to instruments that truly transform our music classroom into an engaging, hands-on learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe moment the students saw the hand drums and LED drumsticks, their excitement was immediate—eyes lit up, smiles spread across the room, and they could not wait to start playing. One of our first activities was a rhythm circle where students practiced steady beat and created their own patterns. The LED drumsticks were especially powerful for helping students visually follow the beat, which supported not only their musical understanding but also their confidence. Students who are usually hesitant to participate were fully engaged, performing alongside their peers and feeling successful.\r\n\r\nWe are now using these instruments daily in our lessons, as well as in our after-school drumming club and performance preparation. Students are not only learning rhythm and coordination, but also teamwork, creativity, and self-expression. They are improvising, composing, and working together as an ensemble—skills that extend far beyond the music classroom. As described in our project, these resources help ensure that every student can participate and succeed, regardless of background .\r\n\r\nThanks to you, my students are discovering their musical voices and building confidence that will stay with them for years to come. My students were very excited when they first saw the materials—they were smiling, exploring, and eager to try everything. The huggable dolls have been especially helpful for pretend play, where students practice communication, responsibility, and taking care of something. The tent has become a safe and calming space in our calm corner, helping students manage their big feelings. The drill toy is also a favorite, as it helps them practice taking turns, waiting, and building patience.\r\n\r\nWe are using the money and ten-frames to support math learning, especially for my students with autism who benefit from clear visuals. The \"making good choices\" cards and sorting folders help us practice decision-making and social skills every day. The stacking hamburger is a fun reward during \"cash-in time\" after students earn tokens, which keeps them motivated. As a special education autism program, organization and visual access are key to helping my students feel comfortable and ready to learn. When they first saw the bins filled with clearly visible toys and learning materials, many of them immediately gravitated toward them with curiosity and excitement. Being able to see their options right away helped reduce frustration and encouraged independence, especially for students who benefit from visual supports.\r\n\r\nWe are now using the bins as part of our daily classroom routines to store and organize toys, manipulatives, and educational materials in a way that is easily accessible. Instead of searching or waiting for assistance, students can independently choose activities, return items to the correct place, and transition more smoothly between tasks. One meaningful moment was when a student who typically relies on adult prompting was able to independently select a preferred activity and clean up afterward without support. This simple system has made a big impact on building responsibility, independence, and confidence.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we will continue to use these bins to support structured play, choice-making, and daily routines. Our next steps include incorporating more student-led activities where they can select materials from the bins to complete tasks related to communication, social interaction, and life skills. These organized and visually accessible materials are helping create a more predictable and supportive learning environment.
