In chemistry, students must connect what they can see and measure with the behavior of atoms and particles that are too small to observe directly. Having the right supplies helps make those connections more understandable and engaging. The colored pencils have given students a useful way to organize information on their periodic tables, distinguish groups of elements, and recognize patterns that will support their learning throughout the year. The accompanying pictures of their colored periodic tables show how a simple classroom supply can become an important learning tool. Computer paper supports this work by making it possible to provide printed activities, practice problems, laboratory directions, and spaces for students to record observations and explain their reasoning. Together, these supplies help students create resources they can refer to as they develop their understanding of chemistry.\r\n\r\nYour donation of lab safety goggles and electronic scales also supports some of the most valuable learning experiences in our classroom: conducting experiments and using evidence to explain results. Colored pencils have been used to color-code our notes. This was especially helpful when teaching students how to build the Unit Circle and notice patterns between reference angles and similar positions in different quadrants. \r\n\r\nHaving ready resouces has made lessons more engaging and meaningful.
