The supplies I ordered are reusable and will be enjoyed by students for years to come with proper care. The headphones have also been a huge help with computers. The sound quality is amazing! The cords to these specific headphones are a better quality material than what I have been able to purchase on my own in the past, and because of that are less likely to tangle. This helps both my students and I by preserving the quality of the headphones and saving time in the classroom not untangling headphone cords. By providing us with a high-quality color printer and essential classroom supplies, you have given me the ability to bridge the gap between \"standard\" curriculum and the specific, individualized needs of my students.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, technology like this printer isn't just an add-on. It is a vital tool for differentiated learning. Many of my students are visual learners who rely on color-coded systems, PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) icons, and visual schedules to navigate their day and express their needs. Because of your gift, I can now create and print custom, vibrant materials the moment a student needs a new strategy. Having these resources in vivid color helps my students distinguish between tasks, stay organized, and process information more effectively than they ever could with black-and-white handouts.\r\n\r\nThe excitement in the room when the new materials come out is truly heartwarming. My students are so much more engaged when their learning tools are bright, professional, and \"fun\" to look at. It transforms a standard lesson into an inviting activity. All of my students have shown such immense gratitude for having ready-made materials that cater to their diverse learning styles. The students were really excited to use the brand-new materials to complete this project. These tools and materials allowed my students to illustrate their Spring Break memories with detail and pride. Another Spring-themed writing assignment they completed with the donated tools/materials was the 'Describe Spring Weather' writing prompt. This project allowed my students to use descriptive language while creating a colorful visual aid. My students love using the materials, and they have asked to do more Spring-themed writing projects before the school year ends. \r\n\r\nMy students have loved using the social skills games that were provided. It is an easy way for them to use them independently or play with other peers. It gives them an opportunity to practice their turn-taking skills. These games have helped my students build confidence in their social awareness in a fun and engaging way. They continue to ask me to get more social skills games similar to the ones donated.\r\n\r\nThe use of seating cushions and fidget bands on student chairs (and on the teacher chair as well) has helped transform the learning environment. Some students use the cushions to sit comfortably on the floor while completing independent work, reading books in the classroom library, or watching an educational video clip. Some students use them as a pillow when they need to take a break after being overstimulated. For students who prefer to work at a table, the fidget bands allow them to move their feet freely while remaining seated and focused on their tasks. The freedom to move their feet has increased their engagement in work completion. \r\n\r\nThank you for empowering them to create, play, and learn in a space that truly meets their needs.","fullyFundedDate":1768703705366,"projectUrl":"project/tools-for-academic-access-from-pencil-g/10030648/","projectTitle":"Tools for Academic Access: From Pencil Grips to Social Skills","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Quero","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9363316_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722749533659","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9363316"},{"teacherId":7084777,"projectId":9993352,"letterContent":"Together, the tools purchased have helped remove barriers to learning and support both academic and social-emotional development. Because of your kindness, each of my students now has a copy of this beautiful and inspiring book. It tells the story of Punchinello, a Wemmick who struggles with self-worth, and mirrors the emotional journeys of many of my students. The message—that everyone is special just the way they are—is one that my class truly needed to hear. Your gift has brought more than just books to our classroom; it has brought hope, encouragement, and a powerful lesson in self-acceptance.\r\n\r\nSince receiving the books, I've seen my students begin to view themselves in a different light. As we read and discussed the story together, they reflected on the labels they carry and how those labels don't define their value. We had heartfelt conversations about confidence, kindness, and seeing the good in ourselves and others. For children who often struggle with low self-esteem, You Are Special has become more than just a book—it's become a mirror of their worth and a reminder that they matter.\r\n\r\nWhat I love most about my students is how accepting they are—not just of me, but of one another.
