Having students at home for over a year, many students had flexible seating options at home- a bed, couch, floor, dining room table, etc. Having options for students helps them focus in class. Having students comfortable facilitates classroom discussion, SL2.1. Whiteboards and whiteboard markers are used daily in our math instruction to help students practice math facts (2.OA.B). Students also use the whiteboard to answer a variety of questions in class during ELA and for reading foundational skills in phonics (RF2.3). My students also use whiteboards during small group reading time to reinforce skills in the reading foundational skills lesson.
