They practiced cooperation and how to synergize when conflicts arise. They also practiced conflict resolution.\r\n\r\nThe students saw each other's strengths and weaknesses and rather than making each other feel bad, they lifted each other up. Those who were stronger helped their peers, they cheered each other on and helped build each other's confidence.\r\n\r\n\r\nLearning through play is often overlooked or seen as unnecessary but as an Early Childhood educator of 19 years, I can tell you it is not.","fullyFundedDate":1768088111283,"projectUrl":"project/reading-is-fun/9989987/","projectTitle":"Reading Is Fun","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gilbert","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp652967_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1497409558572","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/sara-bagwin"},{"teacherId":566771,"projectId":9993751,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom and helping provide these engaging learning materials for our students! As we unpacked each item, they immediately began asking when they could play the \"math popcorn game\" and the \"roller coaster word game.\" Their excitement and enthusiasm for learning were incredible to see. Many students were especially thrilled because the materials made learning feel fun, interactive, and hands-on.\r\n\r\nIn math, we have been using the Grab & Play Math Games, Mastering Math Dominoes, and Pop to Win! Math Game during centers and intervention groups. Students are strengthening their number sense, fact fluency, and problem-solving skills while collaborating with classmates. The games have helped make math practice exciting instead of intimidating, and students often ask if they can continue playing during free choice time.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we will continue using these resources during our literacy and math rotations to support foundational reading and math skills. Our next steps include building stronger fluency in blending and decoding words, as well as improving addition and subtraction fact mastery. These materials will continue to support differentiated instruction and allow students to learn through meaningful, hands-on experiences.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in our students and helping create a classroom filled with joy, engagement, and growth. The magnetic mobile whiteboard has been a game-changer during small group instruction. I'm now able to pull small groups together and provide focused, targeted lessons while other students stay actively engaged around the room. One memorable moment was during a math lesson where a small group used the whiteboard to solve problems together, explaining their thinking step by step. Their confidence and teamwork truly stood out.\r\n\r\nThe clipboards have given students the freedom to learn anywhere—whether they're პარტნიო working on the floor, collaborating at tables, or even taking learning outside into the courtyard. During a recent outdoor writing activity, students used their clipboards to sketch and write about what they observed in nature. It was incredible to see their creativity flow in a new environment.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, they were beyond excited. The mobile whiteboard immediately drew attention, and students were eager to be part of small group lessons. The clipboards made them feel \"official\" and independent, and the board games sparked curiosity and joy. Many students had never played games like Trouble before, so learning the rules and strategies together created lots of laughter and meaningful peer interaction.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are continuing to build on these collaborative experiences. Students will be working more in partners and small groups to solve problems, play strategy games that strengthen critical thinking, and participate in both indoor and outdoor lessons. I also plan to incorporate more student-led discussions at the whiteboard, giving them opportunities to teach and learn from one another.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping create a classroom where students feel empowered to share their ideas, explore new ways of learning, and grow together every day!","fullyFundedDate":1725393832609,"projectUrl":"project/1st-graders-learning-to-work-collaborati/8726317/","projectTitle":"1st Graders Learning to Work Collaboratively!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Herron","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9619470"},{"teacherId":9619470,"projectId":9836071,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom has become a place where math feels exciting, hands-on, and meaningful. Students are using the new math tools every day to explore numbers, build models, and solve problems together. During one recent lesson, students used manipulatives to build and compare numbers, and I watched as they worked collaboratively to explain their thinking. One student proudly said, \"I get it now!\" after using the tools to physically see how numbers come together—an incredible moment of growth and confidence.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were thrilled. There was so much excitement as they explored the math tools, flipped through the new books, and asked when they could start using everything. The hands-on materials immediately sparked curiosity, and the leveled books made students eager to dive into math through stories and exploration.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are building on this momentum by incorporating more small group instruction and math centers that target specific skills. Students will continue using the manipulatives to deepen their understanding of addition, subtraction, and number sense, while the mentor texts and leveled books will help connect math concepts to real-world situations. We are also beginning to encourage students to explain their thinking and strategies, helping them grow not only as problem-solvers but as confident mathematical thinkers.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping create a classroom where learning is active, engaging, and full of discovery!","fullyFundedDate":1762459142502,"projectUrl":"project/little-learners-big-math-dreams/9836071/","projectTitle":"Little Learners, Big Math Dreams","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Herron","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9619470"},{"teacherId":10352559,"projectId":10001134,"letterContent":"The materials provided through this donation were a great surprise to my students. When all packages arrived they were so excited to see new coloring materials and ready for their next lesson where they could bring their projects to life. It's amazing how small treasures can bring so much joy in the classroom. \r\n\r\nOne project students really enjoy doing is our weekly vocabulary assignment called Mr.Stick Vocabulary. In this assignment, they use the weekly phonics lesson's vocabulary word bank to select 4 of the words and create a visual aid to define the word. During this activity students are able to use their creative expression to show their understanding of the learned morphology and apply it with a picture, sentence, and definition. It is also one of my favorite assignments to review because I get to see how well the students understood the vocabulary.
