Many students naturally gravitate toward these areas during independent reading, partner work, and small group activities because they feel calm, safe, and supported. Having flexible seating options has helped students stay engaged for longer periods of time and has encouraged positive learning behaviors throughout the day.\r\n\r\nThe carpet has become a welcoming gathering space where students collaborate, read, and participate in discussions comfortably. The grey chair has especially supported students who benefit from a quieter, cozy space to focus and regulate while working. These additions have helped foster a more student-centered classroom environment where children are able to work productively while feeling comfortable and cared for.\r\n\r\nIn addition, the emotions coloring book has been an incredible resource for helping students learn self-regulation skills and express their feelings in a healthy, calming way. Students have enjoyed using it during reset moments and quiet times, and it has supported the development of emotional awareness and coping strategies in our classroom community. The organization supplies have also been extremely helpful in keeping classroom materials, student work, and important documents filed and organized efficiently. Having organized systems in place allows me to maximize instructional time and better support students throughout the school day.\r\n\r\nThank you for your generosity and support in helping create a classroom space that truly meets the needs of my students.","fullyFundedDate":1768867054920,"projectUrl":"project/calm-learners/10033316/","projectTitle":"Calm Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rising","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8155925"},{"teacherId":9347916,"projectId":10097786,"letterContent":"The classroom supplies have been a game changer in my class. Now, they all have a name tag :) The bin organizers have helped a lot with the projects I do in my classroom. The magnetic letter tiles have been amazing to use with students as they orthographically map their words. Our favorite activity is doing word ladders and these phonics boards makes it easy for students to visualize which sound changes and create new words.\r\n\r\nThe whiteboard blending boards have also been wonderful for students. Thanks to your generosity students in grades K-5 can have flexible seating options like the colorful reclining floor seats you so generously donated. The excitement in the room when they were delivered was unforgettable, and it immediately transformed our Humanities classroom into an inviting and comfortable environment for kids of all ages and abilities. \r\n\r\nBy giving my students, the freedom to choose where and how they learn best, you have not only increased their academic focus but also reduced behavioral issues related to restlessness. Because of your donations, colored paper, a hot glue gun, laminating sheets, magnets, markers, and colored pencils, our first graders were able to fully dive into hands-on crafts for Valentine's Day, Groundhog Day, St. Patrick's Day, Mother's Day, and more. One especially joyful moment was watching students design and laminate their own Mother's Day cards, carefully adding details and proudly sharing them with classmates. These materials didn't just support projects, they helped turn simple lessons into memorable, creative experiences.\r\nWhen the students first saw the new supplies, their excitement was immediate and contagious. Eyes lit up, hands shot into the air, and the room buzzed with ideas. Many of them had never used tools like a hot glue gun or laminating sheets before, and they approached each activity with curiosity and wonder. It was incredible to see their confidence grow as they explored, created, and expressed themselves in new ways.\r\nThanks to your support, we're continuing to build on this momentum with upcoming projects that encourage creativity and collaboration. Students are now working on a spring-themed storytelling project where they will write, illustrate, and assemble their own mini books using the donated materials. Students have worked toward clear expectations, such as completing assignments, demonstrating respectful behavior, and showing perseverance during challenging tasks.
