The fact that we switch teachers half way through the day is very helpful, because my students supplies are not getting lost or stolen by anyone.\r\n\r\nMy students also really liked the different colored headphones they received from you as well. Many of our students experience sensory processing differences that make traditional seating challenging. By providing seating that allows for movement, pressure, or comfort, students are better able to meet their sensory needs in a safe and appropriate way, which directly supports their readiness to learn.\r\n\r\nIn addition to improved focus, sensory-friendly seating has contributed to a decrease in disruptive behaviors and an increase in student engagement. Students who previously struggled to remain seated or became overwhelmed during structured tasks are now demonstrating longer periods of participation and independence. This shift has also positively impacted peer interactions, as students are more regulated and available for social engagement. Overall, the classroom environment has become calmer, more inclusive, and better aligned with the diverse needs of our learners.\r\n\r\nSensory-friendly seating is more than a comfort—it is an essential support that promotes access to learning, emotional regulation, and student success. Continuing to provide and expand these options will allow us to meet students where they are and create an environment where all learners can thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1768191942493,"projectUrl":"project/student-seating-for-sensory-success/10001028/","projectTitle":"Student Seating for Sensory Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Beecher","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8117140_orig.jpg?crop=320,320,x0,y40&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1768107619973","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8117140"},{"teacherId":8159116,"projectId":10018458,"letterContent":"The math games and puppets have become instant favorites in our classroom. Students rushed over, picked up the puppets, and immediately started using them to solve math problems. Several students said, \"This is the best day ever!\"\r\n\r\nRight now, we're working on building stronger number sense and early reading skills. Our next steps include using the puppets to retell math stories, practice math vocabulary, and explain their thinking during problem‑solving. Because of your donation, our students were able to experience a day filled with excitement, movement, teamwork, and joy—something that truly made a lasting impact on each and every one of them.\r\n\r\nYour contribution went far beyond simply supplying equipment. It created opportunities for students to engage in activities that promote physical health, cooperation, and confidence. With the new equipment, we were able to offer a wider variety of games and challenges, allowing every student to find something they enjoyed and felt successful participating in. From relay races to skill-based stations, the day was full of energy and enthusiasm.\r\n\r\nOne of the most meaningful outcomes of your generosity was the sense of inclusion it fostered. Every student, regardless of skill level, had the chance to be involved, supported, and celebrated. The equipment allowed us to modify activities so that all students could participate safely and confidently. Seeing students encourage one another, celebrate small victories, and work together as a team was truly special.\r\n\r\nBeyond the physical benefits, Field Day also played an important role in supporting our students' social and emotional growth. The laughter, smiles, and shared experiences helped strengthen friendships and build a stronger sense of community within our school. Students practiced important life skills such as communication, teamwork, and perseverance—skills that will benefit them both inside and outside the classroom.\r\n\r\nFor many of our students, this was a highlight of their school year. It gave them something to look forward to and created memories they will carry with them long after the day ended. Moments like these remind us how important it is to provide students with opportunities to be active, have fun, and feel connected to their peers.\r\n\r\nYour donation made all of this possible. It is because of your kindness and willingness to support our students that we were able to create such a meaningful and impactful experience. Your generosity directly contributed to smiles, laughter, and unforgettable moments that our students will cherish.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of our entire school community, thank you for believing in our students and investing in their growth and happiness. You would have thought it was the best day of the school year! The moment I handed out the boards, little hands shot up, ready to write, solve, and show their thinking in a way that a pencil and paper never quite inspired. We immediately put them to work during our multiplication unit, where students used their boards to sketch out equal groups and arrays, then held them up so we could celebrate each other's strategies together. The energy in that room was electric.\r\n\r\nSince then, the whiteboards have become a cornerstone of our daily math routine. Rather than worrying about erasing mistakes on paper, students now feel free to take risks. They write a guess, think it through, wipe it away, and try again without any hesitation. Just last week, during a lesson on telling time, I watched a student who usually stays quiet work through a tricky problem three different ways before landing on the answer with a huge smile. That kind of fearless problem-solving is exactly what I hoped these materials would unlock.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are diving into our fractions unit, and I can already picture students drawing fraction bars and pie models directly on their boards, comparing pieces side by side in real time. Your generosity made this hands-on, joyful approach to math possible, and the confidence I see growing in my students every single day is a direct reflection of your investment in them.
