Not only does the glass now gleam but also the eyes of the students sparkle as well when they climb in and settle in front of the microphone, plug in their device, and get to work. \r\n\r\nStudents have created videos, participated in virtual meetings, caught up on classwork that requires them to speak and listen (such as foreign language classes), taken important phone calls, and just escaped the world for a few minutes. The microphone and charging ports we ordered through Donors Choose make the pod more functional, and the vacuum, glass cleaner, and seat cushion make it more comfortable and inviting for students. \r\n\r\nRarely is the pod empty when students are in the library. Our special education students especially enjoy using the pod. With your help, we have been able to grow plants native to our beautiful State that we will take to plant on a field trip at the Stillwater National Wildlife Refuge for a restoration project. \r\nBecause of you, our classroom is a little greener and our students are more prepared for careers in the horticulture industry. The students were excited to see them come into the classroom. I had one student who volunteered to inflate the yoga balls, others volunteered to unpack the cushions, and more helped to place them on all of the chairs. They all wanted to start using the new items right away. \r\n\r\nThe cushions have been used the most as they are on all of my seats. However, the yoga balls are the most sought after. I have students rushing to be in my class first so that they may get the balls for the day. It takes a specific person to choose the wobble stool, but they will consistently choose it. I also like to use the wobble stool at the Promethean board when I need to be working on the computer showing things to my students. It is the right height for the stand. \r\n\r\nI see my students using the balls for stress relief or when the are fidgety. They tend to bounce more or more rapidly. When it is time to leave and go to the next class, none of my students look as tired as they had in the past. These seating options have greatly added to the moral in my class and to the other seating choices I provide.","fullyFundedDate":1769194095201,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating/10046363/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Topken","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9363253"},{"teacherId":8119234,"projectId":9986827,"letterContent":"The generous support from our donors has had an immediate and meaningful impact on my drone program and the students involved. The addition of the Insta360 GO 4K camera has transformed how students document and analyze their flights. Rather than simply flying and observing, students are now able to capture high-quality, stabilized footage from unique perspectives. This allows them to review their performance, identify mistakes, and better understand concepts like flight stability, navigation, and environmental factors. Many of our donors may be familiar with cameras for personal use, but in our classroom, this technology becomes a powerful learning tool that turns every flight into a chance for reflection, analysis, and improvement.\r\n\r\nEqually impactful has been the Microsoft flight stick and throttle system, which we use for pilot training simulations. This equipment allows students to practice flight controls in a safe, controlled environment before ever handling a real drone. It builds muscle memory, confidence, and a deeper understanding of how small adjustments affect flight behavior. Students are especially excited by how realistic the simulation feels—it mirrors what they see in professional aviation and gives them a glimpse into real-world applications and careers. The combination of simulation and real-flight experience has significantly improved both skill development and student engagement.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who were initially hesitant or unsure about their abilities have really thrived with this new equipment. For example, students who struggle with hands-on coordination have been able to take their time practicing on the simulator, building confidence before transitioning to live flights. Others who are more creatively inclined have embraced the 360 camera, taking pride in producing cinematic footage and sharing their work with classmates. Overall, this technology has not only enhanced technical skills but also sparked creativity, confidence, and a deeper enthusiasm for learning in ways that simply weren't possible before.","fullyFundedDate":1768019888699,"projectUrl":"project/precision-tools-for-precision-flight/9986827/","projectTitle":"Precision Tools for Precision Flight","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Sluyter","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8119234_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x134,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1633576982725","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8119234"},{"teacherId":10398834,"projectId":9991286,"letterContent":"I would like to extend my sincere gratitude for your generous support of our \"Life Cycle of a Chicken\" unit through DonorsChoose.
