I truly could not have done it without you! Our class looks like a classroom made for four and five year old now! It if fun, welcoming, organized and educational. I am so excited to teach these kiddos in our new environment.\r\n\r\nWe have an art center where we paint and have an easel for future artists. The big block center includes a marble track and is perfect for future engineers and contractors. We even have a math and science center complete with puzzles, animal habitats, and learning games to reinforce our curriculum. The sensory tools not only provided a means for self-regulation but also fostered a more inclusive classroom environment. \r\nAs for the next steps, students will continue to utilize these resources in ongoing classroom lessons, with plans to incorporate them into group activities and individual learning tasks. Students had the opportunity to build many skills over the past few months and will continue to build upon these skills. There are many benefits using art as a learning tool in a mathematics classroom. By integrating engaging art experiences into my students' instruction, I was able to transform abstract concepts into more concrete and meaningful learning experiences thereby creating more engaging and enriching experiences. This approach fostered creativity, improved critical thinking skills, and promoted metacognitive development in every learner in my classroom. A primary benefit lies in its ability to make abstract mathematical concepts more accessible for English Language Learners. My students explored place value and multiplication through creating visual art that represents their mathematical thinking. Students were able to take risks and felt safe doing so. This directly correlates to taking risks in problem solving in math. When students are actively involved in creating something meaningful, they become more invested in the learning process. Completing an art project not only reinforces their understanding of mathematical concepts, but also provides an avenue for self-expression and individuality. Finally, students have shown long term memory for concepts that has aided in increased tests scores, but more importantly, an excitement to continue learning math and problem solve at high levels of thinking with excitement. We are so incredibly grateful for the supplies and your help in proving supplies for engaging lessons.","fullyFundedDate":1726424011120,"projectUrl":"project/the-art-of-numbers-exploring-the-visual/8777185/","projectTitle":"The Art of Numbers: Exploring the Visual of Mathematics","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. O'Brien","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9747545"},{"teacherId":6361820,"projectId":8835624,"letterContent":"I cannot begin to thank you enough for donating to our school.
