The ability to earn beads for reading books has not only motivated my students to finish more books, but to work toward real understanding, and diversify the types of books they choose to read. They then go on their keychains which are beaded with their names and a one word of motivation that they chose for the year. They are loving it! They also love being able to move the cart around when they need to make a more flexible space for reading or working on group work. I am noticing more and more independence in most of my students as they locate these tools to support their learning!\r\nThe games have become a big hit! I have enjoyed introducing each game to the whole class and it is so exciting to hear all of them shout \"I want to play that one!\". This has definitely elevated our Free Play time and is helping encourage teamwork, problem solving and opportunities to work through feelings when the outcome isn't quite what we were hoping for. The ability for growth to occur through play is remarkable.
