Thanks to your generous support, each student now has their own Birds of Montana Field Guide to spark that sense of wonder. I witnessed this on our first bird outing where we identified more than 11 species of birds! \r\n These guides have truly supported our STEM birding project. The books are kid-friendly, but still filled with lots of important information and great photos. My students first used them to look for a bird to draw on a special school art project. This helped them get acquainted with using the book. Next, we learned about raptors. Using an Audubon raptor quiz, students had to use their bird field guides to identify different raptors. It was fun to see them discuss whether the raptor was juvenile or adult. We also used the guide to identify migratory and nonmigratory birds. We all learned a lot.\r\n They are also using the resource to journal about birds we see in our area. Students will identify a bird then sketch it in their journals. With each sketch, they will add interesting facts about each bird. They will add to their journals throughout the year, and hopefully continue in the future.\r\n Because of your donation, students can step just outside our school and turn their surroundings into a living observatory. Our proximity to diverse bird habitats makes every observation an opportunity for hands-on learning and discovery. Students are not only learning about birds—they are developing curiosity, observational skills, and a deep appreciation for Montana's natural world.\r\n Your gift has made learning tangible, relevant, and inspiring. Thank you for helping my students see themselves as scientists and stewards of their own environment.","fullyFundedDate":1757010710813,"projectUrl":"project/birding-and-beyond-a-stem-program/9464671/","projectTitle":"Birding and Beyond, A STEM Program","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Crawford","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1807675_orig.jpg?crop=3863,3863,x635,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1582668114121","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/kristicrawford"},{"teacherId":4679085,"projectId":9633167,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the cushion sets and storage for my music classroom. We have already used the cushions many times and the students love them. It is easy for me to use them because they are so easy to store and make transition into different activities really smooth. My students have already counted that 10 cushions go on each cart and they are particular about making sure they get put back the right way. \r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw our cushions they were so relieved. I even had one student say, \"Now my bottom won't go numb sitting on the cement floor!\". \r\n\r\nIn the future, we will use the cushions for small group work and for days we complete worksheets in the music room. I often have small reading groups use my room and sometimes have indoor recess. Thanks to your support, we were able to purchase a variety of literacy games and manipulatives that have already made a huge difference in our learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe children are absolutely thrilled with the new manipulatives and games. Their favorite game is to spell the names of their classmates with the snapping blocks. They also enjoy the ABC mystery box and have learned to take turns reaching their hands in for special items to match to the ABC chart. Literacy stations have become part of our daily routine which allows me to teach small groups, complete 1:1 assessments, or monitor their learning and engage with them in a playful way.\r\n\r\nThe quality of these materials is exceptional, and I am confident they will stand the test of time, benefitting not only my students but the many more who will use them in the years to come. With over 45 kindergartners on our team, these resources are impacting our entire grade band, enriching the educational experience for all.\r\n\r\nYour support means so much to us, and we are so grateful for your commitment to our students' success.
