Your donation has made an immediate and meaningful impact in our classroom!\r\n\r\nThe students have been beyond excited to explore the new materials. From the moment the items were introduced, the rice table quickly became a favorite spot in our room. It has been so special to watch their curiosity and creativity come to life as they scoop, pour, and explore.\r\n\r\nBeyond the excitement, your donation is helping students build important skills every day. They are strengthening their fine motor abilities through activities like grasping, pinching, and transferring materials. We have also seen wonderful growth in their sorting and categorizing skills as they organize items by size, color, and type. These hands-on experiences are so valuable for their development and learning.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, our students have access to engaging, meaningful play that supports both their academic and developmental growth. At school, technology is used intentionally to support learning, and this center helps students build listening skills, vocabulary, and comprehension in a developmentally appropriate way. When I first introduced the Tonies, the excitement was immediate as some students had seen or heard of them before but had never had the chance to use one themselves. Every student was able to explore the listening center before it was added to our regular rotation, and it quickly became a class favorite.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most about the Tonie Boxes is how interactive and independent the experience feels. They began by listening to Giraffes Can't Dance and then moved on to fairy tale stories, eagerly retelling details and discussing their favorite parts afterward. The simple, hands-on nature of the Tonies makes stories feel special and accessible, even for our youngest learners. Students are already asking which stories they will get to listen to next, and their enthusiasm continues to grow each time they visit the center.\r\n\r\nThis technology has been especially powerful for some of my more active five-year-old students. Seeing students who typically struggle to sit still become fully engaged and attentive while listening to a story has been incredible. Focused listening is a critical foundation for reading comprehension, and this center allows students to practice that skill. The Tonie Boxes are helping students develop a deeper understanding of stories while fostering a genuine love of listening and learning. As soon as I opened them, the room filled with \"Ooh!\" and \"Can we try those today?\" They were instantly drawn to the bright counters and hands-on tools that make learning feel like play. Many students immediately began exploring, building, sorting, and making connections before I even introduced activities—proof of how naturally engaging these materials are.\r\n\r\nThese manipulatives have already transformed our math block. We are using them daily to model addition and subtraction, build number sense, and support small-group instruction. One moment that stood out was during a lesson on making ten: a student who often struggles with abstract numbers lit up when they used two-color counters to physically create combinations. They proudly announced, \"I get it now!\" and continued showing different ways to make ten to their peers.\r\n\r\nThe manipulatives are also supporting students who learn best through tactile and visual experiences. They help us make math concrete, accessible, and fun for every learner in the room. Our next steps include using these tools to dive deeper into place value, fact fluency, and problem-solving. Having these materials allows me to plan richer, more hands-on lessons where students can explore, think critically, and build a strong conceptual foundation.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, my students now have the tools they need to engage with math in meaningful and joyful ways. These manipulatives have already made a noticeable difference, and we will continue using them throughout the entire school year. Thank you for helping make our classroom a place where learning truly comes to life.","fullyFundedDate":1762266422818,"projectUrl":"project/count-sort-and-explore-little-hands/9866049/","projectTitle":"Count, Sort, and Explore: Little Hands, Big Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Robinson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10038558_orig.jpg?crop=1196,1196,x1066,y1632&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747849916117","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10038558"},{"teacherId":10038558,"projectId":9583575,"letterContent":"When our two wooden mailboxes arrived, my students were absolutely thrilled. Many of them gasped when they first saw them and immediately started exploring them, asking, \"Are these for us?\" Their excitement filled the room.\r\n\r\nThese mailboxes have already made such a positive difference in our daily routine. We use them as our new organizational system for both Chromebooks and take-home folders. Each student has a designated slot where their Chromebook slides in and their folder sits neatly on the top. This simple setup has brought so much order and independence to our classroom—students know exactly where their materials belong, and transitions have become much smoother.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching a student who often struggles with organization walk directly to the mailbox, place their Chromebook and folder in their correct spot, and proudly say, \"I can keep my stuff together now.\" Moments like that show just how meaningful these resources are.\r\n\r\nThe mailboxes have also supported our work on building consistent routines. Students are taking responsibility for their materials, helping each other remember where items go, and keeping our classroom tidy and ready for learning throughout the day.\r\n\r\nThese wooden mailboxes have quickly become a staple in our classroom, and we use them every single day. Thank you so much for contributing to something that has truly improved our organization, independence, and overall classroom flow. Using the Hand2Mind Word Work Mats has been a game changer in my classroom. They provide my students with a hands-on, structured way to practice phonics, spelling, and word recognition skills. The mats are engaging and interactive, which keeps students motivated while reinforcing foundational literacy concepts. I've noticed that students are more confident when manipulating sounds, building words, and applying patterns because the mats give them a clear, visual, and tactile tool to guide their thinking.\r\n\r\nNot only have the mats supported my struggling readers by offering scaffolds, but they've also challenged my stronger readers to extend their learning. The versatility of the mats makes it easy to differentiate instruction, and I've been able to integrate them into whole-group lessons, small-group work, and independent practice. Overall, they've made word work more meaningful, consistent, and fun for my students, and I've seen steady growth in their phonics application and spelling accuracy.
