Your support provided us with so much more than classroom supplies. It gave my students something to look forward to, a reason to celebrate their hard work, opportunities to explore and create, and most importantly, a memory that I truly believe they will carry with them for years to come.\r\n\r\nWe used the supplies from this project to create an exciting Glow Party for my students after they completed their iReady Diagnostic. For young students, completing a diagnostic assessment can be a long and challenging experience. They are expected to work hard, stay focused, and demonstrate everything they have learned, which can be especially difficult for first graders. I wanted to find a way to motivate them while also reminding them that their hard work deserves to be celebrated.\r\n\r\nThe Glow Party became that motivation!\r\n\r\nI told my students that once they completed their iReady Diagnostic, we would celebrate their hard work with a classroom Glow Party. Their excitement was immediate. Throughout the diagnostic, I could hear students talking about the party and encouraging one another to keep going. It gave them something positive to work toward and helped turn what could have been a stressful experience into something exciting.\r\n\r\nWhen the day of the Glow Party finally arrived, my classroom transformed into a completely different place. The glow-in-the-dark supplies made everything feel magical, and my students were absolutely amazed. Their faces lit up as they walked into the glowing classroom. There was so much laughter, excitement, and joy throughout the day.\r\n\r\nThe STEM bins were another huge part of our celebration. Instead of simply having a party where students sat and watched something, they were able to actively participate, build, explore, create, and problem-solve. They worked together, shared ideas, experimented with different materials, and used their creativity. I loved watching students who sometimes struggled to stay focused during regular classroom activities become completely engaged because they were having fun while learning.\r\n\r\nIt was such a wonderful reminder that learning does not always have to look like sitting at a desk with a pencil and paper. Sometimes learning looks like building something with a friend, trying something that might not work the first time, figuring out how to solve a problem, and celebrating when you finally succeed.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, the Glow Party gave my students a chance to simply be kids. They had worked so hard on their diagnostic, and they deserved a day filled with laughter, excitement, and celebration. Watching them enjoy themselves and seeing how proud they were of their accomplishments was incredibly special to me as their teacher.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite parts of teaching first grade is knowing that the experiences I create in my classroom can become memories that children carry with them. I truly believe this Glow Party became a core memory for my students. Years from now, they may not remember every worksheet they completed or every assessment they took, but I hope they remember walking into a glowing classroom, laughing with their friends, building with STEM materials, and celebrating something they worked hard to accomplish.\r\n\r\nThat is the impact your generosity had on my students.\r\n\r\nYou helped me create an experience that motivated them academically, encouraged creativity and collaboration, and allowed them to celebrate their accomplishments in a fun and meaningful way. My students have a hard time keeping up with their pencils and these provide a place for them to always have a pencil on hand. I was so excited to learn that my project had been funded. Opening the supplies was like Christmas! The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card was also very beneficial to my students. I immediately purchased materials to support lessons using the mini objects. \r\n\r\nThe students are using the new materials to strengthen articulation skills as well as language and communication skills. In addition to learning language skills, the students use these materials to work cooperatively with others, thus strengthening their social skills. In a digital age, face to face social skills are often overlooked but are so important for our students to learn.\r\n\r\nThese mini objects make learning fun and add variety and excitement to our classroom. We have used the items in sensory bins, in the monster toy and in many other activities. The students love to discover which tiny object they will find next.
