We have been able to utilize the different resources for a variety of ways to help our students which has made an impact on their educational journey. It has also helped our educators feel supported as we address the mental health needs of our students so they can be more successful in the classroom environment. \r\n\r\nWe have been able to implement a community calming space with the materials from this project! The space has become a safe space for students to be able to utilize when they are having a hard time regulating their emotions. They use the tools and books to learn about how they are feeling and ways to cope with their big emotions. Reading is such a great way for students to learn new information and skills. By providing diverse books, the students can also see themselves in the books and connect more with the material. The snacks have also been given to students who are in need of them and whose families may not have the financial ability to pay for this. This has also made an impact because when basic needs are met, students do better in school and are able to cope better with their emotions. \r\n\r\nThank you again for your support and generosity to fully fund this project. The staff and students at Wilshire Park are extremely grateful for the mental health resources as we navigate increasing mental health concerns for our students.","fullyFundedDate":1732718675689,"projectUrl":"project/mental-health-sel-support/8746044/","projectTitle":"Mental Health & SEL Support","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Randt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9734270"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_75648","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":690,"numTeachers":43,"percentFrplEligible":30,"percentAsian":7,"percentBlack":10,"percentWhite":67,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"16.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":82.1,"schoolId":75648,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Wilshire Park Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Wilshire Park Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/minnesota/st-anthony-new-brighton-sd-282/wilshire-park-elementary-school/75648"}
