We're so grateful, and the students are excited to use the goggles.\r\n\r\nWhen I showed the goggles to my foundations students, they all wanted to be the first to try them out. Even though we are still waiting for our substance use unit to incorporate the goggles into lessons, my Foundations class recently got a sneak peek. They really enjoyed the experience, asking many follow-up questions about what the real-life effects of impairment would be like.\r\n\r\nAll 8th graders will have the opportunity to use the goggles during our substance use unit. The goggles will be a key component of our harm reduction stations. During this lesson, students will rotate through various stations in the classroom, each designed to educate them about different risks associated with substance use. The goggles will provide a powerful, hands-on opportunity to simulate impaired movement and judgment, making the abstract concept of risk much more tangible and memorable. This active, station-based learning approach ensures they don't just hear the facts but experience a meaningful simulation, leading to richer discussion and greater retention.\r\n\r\nThank you again for giving my students these valuable tools.
