"Patricia va a California" will be a Spanish-mini novel that will help these beginning level Spanish learners feel a sense of fluency. I can't wait to see students' faces light up when they are reading - IN SPANISH! All students will recognize the words in these books, comprehend, and feel a huge level of success in reading in a new language.
The listening center will give a separate station for students to practice listening and speaking in Spanish - their two favorite pieces of language learning! They will be thrilled to have a separate area for this and to continue practicing listening and speaking in a more private and personal way - but with a group aspect to help each other in the process. This can also be used to listen to specific songs in the target language in an intentional way to hear the Spanish language authentically - and they love music!
Markers will help these students create a variety of projects throughout the year. These students are creative scholars who have such amazing ideas, but don't always have the appropriate supplies to do so! Something as simple as markers will achieve that goal!
