When we began this project, our hope was that students in our programs would learn skills that help them transition into the community. We wanted them to practice following multi-step directions, learning new tasks in an unfamiliar setting, and doing so in a place where mistakes are welcomed and learning is safe.\r\nThis gift made that hope a reality. Watching the students discover their own abilities was a joy. Some mornings it was hard to decide who would help with the coffee cart because so many students wanted to take part—and taste the items brought in! Those friendly competitions to be chosen were a delight to see.\r\nStudents who had difficulty making coffee still contributed in meaningful ways: stocking shelves, prepping cups and supplies, delivering orders, sampling new products, making friends, and learning from their peers. Every student found a role and gained confidence.\r\nYour generosity exceeded our expectations and made a lasting difference. We are deeply grateful.\r\nApologies for the delay in sending this note—we have been very busy launching this new program and getting everyone together for a photo has been a challenge.","fullyFundedDate":1762794089993,"projectUrl":"project/coffee-cart-business-launch/9696374/","projectTitle":"Coffee Cart Business Launch!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Marno","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10022247_orig.jpg?crop=1240,1240,x1055,y184&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757359180855","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10022247"},{"teacherId":10022247,"projectId":9327978,"letterContent":"The excitement was truly \"earth-shattering\"! The boxes were stacked like a tower, and everyone gleefully looked on. When I asked if anyone would like to help unwrap the gifts, those who were verbal eagerly responded with enthusiasm. Meanwhile, the nonverbal student stood up, and shouted out to his peer, knocking over his chair, rushed out the room and shouted excitedly to his peer to come help! \r\nIt was an exhilarating chaos, watching their joyful expressions.\r\nReturning students immediately asked, \"Can we make breakfast, Miss Marno?\" This prompted a new, shy student to inquire why we would make breakfast. The others explained, \"That's what we do with Miss Marno; we learn to cook and be safe.\" A few students who could speak excitedly shouted out what they wanted to cook in class!\r\n\r\nI wish you could have been there to witness it all, but please know that the impact and generosity you shared with us is deeply felt by everyone. \r\nOur ENTIRE Team thanks you!","fullyFundedDate":1750879325959,"projectUrl":"project/cid-sel-kitchen-middle-school/9327978/","projectTitle":"CID SEL Kitchen Middle School","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Marno","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10022247_orig.jpg?crop=1240,1240,x1055,y184&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757359180855","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10022247"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_76082","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":853,"numTeachers":35,"percentFrplEligible":56,"percentAsian":19,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":35,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":18,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"24.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":76082,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Roseville Area Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Roseville Area Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/minnesota/roseville-area-school-district-623/roseville-area-middle-school/76082"}
