Using donated tie-dye, we tie-dyed all the t-shirts in preparation for our field trip in May. Our next step will be to use fabric paint and add our names and school name. Then we can all be unique individuals but also part of our group when we go on our field trip. \r\n\r\nThe students were very excited to tie-dye. They asked me every day for the two weeks leading up to the day if it was time to tie-dye yet. For almost all of them it was their first time tie-dying. It was so messy and so worth it! The yard was full of laughter. \r\n\r\nAs a teacher, the best part of my job is being able to celebrate who students are. It is a joy to see students' pride in their identities. This project will have a lasting impression because they will also get to use their t-shirt as a 'yearbook' and have their friends sign it. Which has extra meaning since it is their last year at our school. Many of my students do not have enough money to purchase a printed yearbook.","fullyFundedDate":1769991604387,"projectUrl":"project/tie-dye-t-shirt-pride-keepsake/10068574/","projectTitle":"Tie-dye T-shirt Pride Keepsake","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. George","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5150207"},{"teacherId":3764360,"projectId":9985512,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation. Using the supplies you gave to us, we play games like UNO, Gonggi, Beanboozled, checkers, and chess. My students are able to build an inclusive community by playing these games.\r\n\r\nFinally, my students are really enjoying the Percy Jackson series. I had enough books for the first 3 books for all of my students to read those books. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough books for the students to read book 4 of the Percy Jackson series.
