This game requires them to utilize tongs to retrieve animals from a customizable jungle with vines. This game is so much fun and helps students develop the little muscles in their hands that are important when writing, cutting with scissors, eating with utensils, managing winter clothing, and more! We also frequently utilize the Pip-Squeak markers which helps my learners with smaller hands to grasp the marker effectively.\r\n\r\nIt has been exciting to watch the students trial the new learning materials. Their eyes light up every time I pull out a new activity. These learning materials allow me so much flexibility in what I am able to plan for small group. For example, I can utilize play doh in a less structured way focusing on rolling/smashing/pinching/etc. or a more structured way such as using scissors to cut out play doh and turn it into letters of the alphabet for students who are ready to write!\r\n\r\nAs we enter the winter and spring months, my goal is to use these tools weekly so students can become familiar with the tools and feel a sense of mastery when using them! I will also continue to use the tools in new and refreshing ways to motivate learners. I love utilizing the seasons of the year as themes for my groups or sessions with students. For example, I hope to continue utilizing Floof as snow that we can mold and shape throughout the winter season.
