Because of you, our students now have the high quality mallets they need to bring our learning to the next level.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first heard about our new mallets, they could not believe the generosity and kindness of our community. They felt so seen and important knowing that people who may have been strangers to them cared about their music education. They immediately took a sense of pride and ownership over these mallets. Watching them gently handle the mallets and remind one another to take extra special care of them made my heart so happy. They even promised each other that they would do their absolute best to treat the mallets with respect so they last for a long time.\r\n\r\nHaving the correct mallets has completely transformed how our students' experience making music together. Recently, during a 4th grade lesson, every single student in the room had an instrument in hand and held a mallet that was specifically suited for their instrument. There were no harsh sounds or complaints about an instrument not working. Hearing the entire class play together with soft, beautiful, and rich sounds was something that immediately brought smiles to everyone's faces. They were so proud of the music they created and it's thanks to our donors giving them the tools to make that music.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, our students will be using these mallets to perform at our concerts. Having the right tools allows us to focus on proper playing technique, dynamic control, and collaborative group performance.\r\n\r\nYour generosity didn't just bring new materials into our room; it gave my students the pride, confidence, and joy of making beautiful music together. When we first brought out the materials, their excitement was unmistakable. Students were eager to experiment, and the room filled with smiles and energy.\r\n\r\nWe've used the drums in multiple ways: learning basic rhythms, performing as an ensemble, and even composing original pieces. One standout moment was when students worked in small groups to write their own rhythms, then performed for the class. Watching them collaborate, listen, and create as a team was inspiring.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll be performing popular music on bucket drums for one of our upcoming performances. Our 3rd Graders are composing their own bucket drum pieces to perform for the class.\r\n\r\nThank you for making these hands-on, creative experiences possible.
