This equipment has completely elevated the level of engineering our team can explore.\r\n\r\nBefore receiving these components, our robots relied primarily on motor encoders and timed movements for navigation. While that works at a basic level, it limits precision and makes advanced autonomous programming extremely difficult. With the new odometry system, students can now track the robot's exact position on the field in real time. That means they're not just guessing where the robot is — they're calculating it.\r\n\r\nStudents have been learning how to:\r\n\r\nConfigure and mount odometry pods mechanically\r\n\r\nIntegrate sensor feedback into code\r\n\r\nApply coordinate geometry and kinematics to real-world movement\r\n\r\nDebug positioning errors using data instead of trial and error\r\n\r\nThe moment the system worked for the first time — when the robot drove a path and returned exactly to its starting point — the room erupted. That success wasn't luck. It was math, engineering, persistence, and teamwork.\r\n\r\nThis equipment has allowed our students to experience the kind of sensor fusion and localization techniques used in real-world robotics, autonomous vehicles, and advanced manufacturing systems. They are no longer just building robots. They are building systems.\r\n\r\nYour support didn't just purchase hardware. It gave our students access to deeper problem-solving, higher-level programming, and authentic engineering challenges. It raised the ceiling of what they believe they are capable of.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in their curiosity, confidence, and future.","fullyFundedDate":1764686171251,"projectUrl":"project/level-up-advanced-sensors-for-an-autono/9928148/","projectTitle":"Level Up! These are the books students reach for first. These are the books that help hesitant readers become confident ones. \r\n\r\nWithin days of the books arriving, students were gathered around the shelves, flipping through pages, pointing out covers to friends, and asking, \"Can I start this today?\" That kind of excitement is everything.\r\n\r\nYour donation does more than purchase books. These books give reluctant readers an entry point. They help students see their lives and identities reflected. Your donations help expand empathy through stories rooted in diverse histories. You helped to build fluency, stamina, and confidence through accessible book formats.\r\n\r\nEvery title you funded is now in the hands of a young reader who might not otherwise have found their story. This collection ensures that every child can find a mirror, a window, or a sliding glass door into reading. From the bottom of my heart , on behalf of my students, thank you for believing that stories matter. \r\n\r\nYou are helping turn middle school readers into lifelong learners.","fullyFundedDate":1770044290656,"projectUrl":"project/fresh-voices-new-formats-a-2025-middle/9924822/","projectTitle":"Fresh Voices, New Formats: A 2025 Middle Grade Library Expansion","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Leneway","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp575803_orig.jpg?crop=2884,2884,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1764215673618","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ashleyleneway"},{"teacherId":575803,"projectId":9606541,"letterContent":"We are incredibly grateful for your generous donation. These supplies have made an immediate and meaningful difference in our classroom.\r\n\r\nStudents use the washi tape in their interactive notebooks almost daily. Having a wide variety of colors and designs allows them to personalize their work, which increases their pride and ownership in their learning. Their notebooks truly reflect who they are as thinkers and writers.\r\n\r\nIn our ELA workshop, sticky notes are essential. Students use them to mark powerful passages, capture their thinking while reading, and record important concepts in their notebooks. The new highlighters have also been a gift — before this donation, we only had pink, yellow, and green. Expanding our color options may seem small, but it has increased organization, engagement, and excitement. These tools are invaluable in helping students grow as active, thoughtful readers and writers.\r\n\r\nThe fidgets have been especially impactful. The worry stones are a class favorite — they are quiet, subtle, and incredibly effective for students who benefit from support managing busy hands. They help students stay regulated and focused without disrupting their learning or others.\r\n\r\nFinally, our previous headphones were over five years old and well-loved. Being able to replace them — especially with updated versions that include microphones — has been such a gift. This allows students to fully participate in digital learning, record their thinking, and access instructional supports with clarity.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students. Right now, I'm seeing a remarkable difference in our learning environment because of your support.\r\n\r\nStudent Choice and Comfort:\r\nStudents are choosing the seating that works best for them. I see them finding their spots, settling in, and focusing more easily. The flexibility allows each student to learn in the way that makes them feel most comfortable.\r\n\r\nSafety for Active Learners:\r\nStudents who need movement are now able to wiggle and shift safely while working. Struggling readers and students with diverse learning needs seem more at ease, willing to take risks, and eager to contribute.
