I have been fortunate to receive several learning tools, books, and manipulatives this school year, and have found that I was running out of places to put things. I have a shelf for morning work activities, shelves in the center areas where students pull out bins and return things when they are done working, and cabinets in the hall to store things that are not in use for the current unit. \r\n\r\nI have tried to organize things with dollar store bins and baskets, but they are not the right size or break too easily. The bins in this project are high quality and easy for students to use. I will use these bins to keep materials organized and, when it is time, at the students' level so they can learn to be independent by pulling out what they want, using it, and then returning it to the correct bin.","fullyFundedDate":1777204277413,"projectUrl":"project/preschool-plethora-all-organized/9987686/","projectTitle":"Preschool Plethora all Organized","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Faber","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9185746_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753105643794","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/christy-faber"},{"teacherId":9185746,"projectId":10193809,"letterContent":"My students have loved using the tricycles and will ask me frequently when they can have a turn to ride. The whole class got involved opening boxes and taking off the cellophane from the packages inside them.\r\n\r\nThe students were excited to see so many options. Once opened and trash was discarded, my homeroom class of 21 kids broke into groups. Two sets of students chose to play a version of Hedbanz which is a guessing game. One group of boys grabbed the ball and began Mumball. A few other pairs went into corners to play Life, Trouble, and Yahtzee. Not one student asked to get on their Chromebook to play a game. All students interacted with a peer (or more) and spent time chatting and laughing.\r\n\r\nThanks so much for your contribution to this project. You gave my students joy and me, piece of mind. For our preschool program, students receive one hour of uninterrupted time to work in learning centers. When I first put out the viewfinders with the animal pictures, students were so excited. They were talking about what they were seeing and wanted their friends and teachers to look at them too. We had some great conversations about animals and insects as a result.\r\nA few weeks later, I also put out some ice cube trays with some yellow, red, and blue colored water. The students used the large droppers to move the water and mix to make new colors. When they saw the green and purple colors, they were proud of their work and told each other to look. \r\nFor a small-group activity, I introduced magnetic push-and-pull and ran some of the small experiments that came with the STEM set. As a teacher, it makes me happy to see my students happy. It also is a big relief to me and to my students who may arrive hungry, that there is food available in our room. Often times latecomers miss the school-provided breakfast. Without your help, they would have to wait until our lunch time to eat. I was looking for some new books to make reading exciting for my young students. Most of them do not have books at home, so this is their first experience sitting and looking at a book. It is a challenge for four-year-olds to do this independently, but so rewarding and important. \r\n There are two types of books on this project for two different purposes. The first is the board books. Twice in our schedule, students have a brief quiet reading time. Quiet Reading is when they sit on our carpet and look at a book independently to read the pictures and enjoy. It is a skill that takes most of the year for them to achieve the patience and desire to engage with the book, but it is the first step to a lifetime of reading and loving books.\r\n The second set of books is picture books for the teacher to use during one of our two scheduled Read Alouds. We have especially liked the set of books that has an English copy and a Spanish copy. The Spanish copy is read before lunch, and the teacher speaks only in Spanish; then the English copy is read after lunch, and the teacher speaks only in English. We have noticed a change in excitement for this second read-aloud, because most of the students are ELL and they are often lost during book time. Now they know the story and can follow along, because they can understand. I will be looking to get more Spanish versions of the books I have so that we can do this every week.","fullyFundedDate":1755955236374,"projectUrl":"project/book-nook-rejuvenation/9593989/","projectTitle":"Book Nook Rejuvenation","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Faber","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9185746_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753105643794","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/christy-faber"},{"teacherId":8540303,"projectId":9364183,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting this project.
