Words can't express how grateful we are for the materials that we received. Using manipulative materials such as dry erase boards, dry erase markers and erasers have helped my students greatly. The dry erase markers/erasers allows all students to work quickly, develop strength in their fingers/ wrists and work with out fear of a permanent mistake especially during math. Everyone has the same materials and know one feels left out. \r\n\r\nThe pencils, paper and writing center in the classroom are constant reminders that we can learn to write well, write with purpose and be creative in our own first grade way. This project has truly transformed learning for my students, many of whom face socioeconomic challenges and have limited access to basic educational materials. Thanks to you, we were able to bring science and literacy to life in fun, meaningful ways that sparked curiosity and joy. My students used chalk to write letters, sound them out, and build literacy skills—all while having fun learning outside. For many, it was their first time using materials like chalk and sunglasses, and their excitement was inspiring to witness.\r\n\r\nWe explored chemistry concepts by making bubbles with soapy water, helping students understand mixtures and reactions in a hands-on, memorable way. Jump ropes were a big hit too—used not only to promote health and exercise in a safe, judgment-free way, but also creatively as a tool to measure our height! These experiences showed my students that learning can happen anywhere, and that science and reading can be both fun and empowering. Your donation made all of this possible, and I'm so appreciative. My students had an amazing time learning while playing, and they are still talking about these activities with big smiles.
