Having a variety of materials allows me to change the items in the sensory table more often and gives students new textures to explore. Sometimes I create a math or literacy station with the sensory table by adding numbers and letters to explore and manipulate. Other times we just have fun playing with the new sand with the digging tools. They are excited to see what we choose next! \r\n\r\nWe are starting a unit on farms when we return to school after the winter break so I am planning on setting up a farm using some kinetic sand and the farm animals and tractors we have. They will have opportunities to develop their social skills through conversation and cooperation while exploring the new materials.
