I can explain how impactful this will be this year. Students having a Scholastic news resource in their hand is so meaningful and powerful! It will impact their education and lives in so many ways.\r\n\r\nEach Friday we read the articles independently. this gives ALL students access to grade level Reading AND current events. Nonfiction is difficult for many so I know that by the end of the year their exposure will make all the difference. After Reading we switch to the digital platform and read it a second time, discussing text features and structures. We watch videos, play games, and do many activities that strength their comprehension.\r\n\r\nThey love the connection and the familiarity in our Nonfiction Fridays procedure.
