Your support also helped provide resources such as DBT Skills in Schools, Everyday SEL in Middle School, and Conscious Discipline, which strengthen my ability to lead school-based mental health and social-emotional learning activities and teach students practical skills for managing emotions, navigating challenges, and solving problems.\r\n\r\nBefore receiving your support, I often relied on my own personal funds to purchase furnishings and student support tools, including finding items through Facebook Marketplace, in order to create a comfortable and welcoming space for students. Your donation has allowed me to build a more intentional environment with resources specifically selected for middle school students. The comfortable seating, calming tools, books, and visual supports have helped create a space where students can feel welcomed and practice skills in a way that feels accessible and age-appropriate. The students love playing with the legos to spark creativity and show off their skills. This also for me to have some structured \"free\" choice options that still fit within the STEM world. I can give them an object to build and see what they come up with. The Snap-Circuits might be the biggest hit in the class, any time there is extra time in the class they want to get them out and try to complete as many different activities as they can. This also helped in our electrical unit where we explored circuits and got to play with the many different aspects within a circuits.
