Because of your generosity, our students now have access to calming and sensory tools throughout our school that are helping them regulate, refocus, and get back to learning.\r\n\r\nOne of the most meaningful parts of this project has been seeing students independently recognize when they need a break and use the stations appropriately. Students can use their break cards, visit a sensory station, set the timer, and choose a strategy that works for them. Whether they need movement, a quiet space, something tactile to interact with, or simply a few minutes to reset, these stations give our students positive choices for managing their emotions and energy.\r\n\r\nWe have already seen students using the stations as part of their daily routines. The spaces have become more than just places to \"take a break\"—they are opportunities for students to practice self-awareness, independence, and appropriate regulation strategies. We are teaching students that needing a break is okay and that they can learn strategies to help themselves return to the classroom ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThe impact reaches beyond individual students. Having these resources available throughout the building has helped us create a calmer, more supportive environment for everyone. Teachers and staff have additional tools to support students, and students are learning skills that they can carry with them into the classroom and beyond.\r\n\r\nYour support has helped us turn an idea into something our students can actually see, touch, and use every day. Thank you for investing in our students and helping us create a school where every child has the opportunity to feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThank you for making a difference in our school and in the lives of our students!","fullyFundedDate":1789603016464,"projectUrl":"project/supporting-calm-minds-and-bright-futures/10369879/","projectTitle":"Supporting Calm Minds and Bright Futures at Sonoma Elementary","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Berner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10538979_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1783533885000","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10538979"},{"teacherId":10538979,"projectId":10353771,"letterContent":"Our Berner MTSS DonorsChoose project was fully funded, and the items have arrived and are already being used with students in my office!\r\n\r\nThese resources have helped create a welcoming and supportive space where students can work on their academic and behavioral needs while feeling comfortable and encouraged.
