I've watched my students grow this school year in their ability to complete all types of puzzles with 6 pieces, 8, 10, 24, 48 and more. They've also grown in their ability to use interlocking, shapes, wave design, etc. This activity is not only educational, it's independent. Your donation to our Stock a Science Shelf campaign has impacted each student in my classroom for the better. \r\n\r\nThe students were so excited when they walked into the classroom and saw our new science shelf! They noticed right away as it is the first thing a person sees when they come into our classroom. It was just what we needed to make work about stars, the solar system, and our universe available for the children to explore. Currently, it houses work for the states of matter. This includes different musical instruments that the students explored and contributed each sound to a state of matter. They were so inspired, they started to write a musical, a parody of the Wizard of Oz they are calling The Wizard of Matter. This includes information from their own research and a sound effects department, all made available simply by having a place to put them! \r\n\r\nThe other materials donated have been well appreciated too!
