We know it's important to get kids back in school after a disrupting pandemic, but our kids are coming back into school with more emotional baggage than normal. Our school is a Title I school in the Metro-Detroit area. Our students are AMAZING, but definitely need some help if we want to lesson and eventually close the achievement gap. Being a first year Mental Health Specialist with very few counseling materials, I would like to help my students with their social and emotional growth. We've all lost so much due to the pandemic, but many of my students have lost parents and are coping with extreme loss. The social and emotional learning books, meditation materials, and course books that I selected will help me lead individual and small groups with students who need a little extra TLC. It is my hope that by providing these materials, I can create a safe, comfortable environment for my students to flourish, in both mentally and academically
