These texts are helping introduce and reinforce important early literacy skills, including listening comprehension, making predictions, identifying characters and settings, retelling stories, making connections, and learning new vocabulary. The books also give students opportunities to recognize themselves and their experiences in stories while learning about holidays and celebrations that are important to their classmates and families.\r\n\r\nReading is a very special part of our classroom. We read together as a class, during small groups, and independently during our classroom library time. My students love looking through books, talking about the pictures, sharing their favorite parts, and retelling stories to one another. The new books have added so much excitement to our library, and I have noticed students eagerly choosing them during independent reading and asking to hear them read aloud. Some of my most enthusiastic readers are students who may not always choose reading first, but are drawn in because the topics are familiar and interesting to them.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us build a classroom library filled with books that encourage curiosity, conversation, and a love of reading.
