Thank you again for your generous donation. \r\n\r\nWith the materials you provided, my students designed and built tactile 3D models that demonstrated the movement of water and solutes across a selectively permeable membrane. They tested different concentration scenarios with their models to predict net movement into or out of the cell, or toward equilibrium, and then used those models as interactive test‑prep tools during peer‑teaching stations and formative review sessions.\r\n\r\nThey connected these mechanisms to the broader concept of homeostasis, explaining how coordinated transport at the cellular level helps maintain a stable internal environment. Students enjoyed crafting these models in groups, and after manipulating the models noticeably increased engagement and retention, and had higher test scores than I observed in previous years when exploring the same lesson. The Osmosis 3D model is my absolute new favorite! \r\n\r\nI have also conducted 2 experiments from the \"Junk Drawer Biology\" book, and we are now preparing to compare our human cells with bacterial cells and the virus. \r\n\r\nSeveral students who struggled with abstract cellular concepts may now find it easier, thanks to your donation! My sincerest gratitude for your support. Your contribution directly enriched student learning, boosted engagement, and deepened understanding of essential biological concepts.","fullyFundedDate":1763594745445,"projectUrl":"project/stemulate-curiosity-grow-young-biologis/9886624/","projectTitle":"STEMulate Curiosity: Grow Young Biologists","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Luce-Wilson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9218293_orig.jpg?crop=625,625,x623,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1692893299868","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/luce-wilson-12"},{"teacherId":9218293,"projectId":9886650,"letterContent":"I am writing to share the positive impact of the classroom materials you provided for my 8th-grade German class. I am loving these new materials, and so are my students. \r\n\r\nWith the hanging file organizer in place, we are all staying much more organized. Student work and lesson materials are easy to find and distribute, saving instructional time and keeping our routines running smoothly. And the new popsicle sticks have been invaluable for randomizing student selection and increasing equitable participation.\r\n\r\nStudents are excited to begin reading their books on Fiction Fridays, and having the texts organized and accessible has made it simple to rotate titles and encourage independent reading.\r\n\r\nThe hanging pocket chart is now in place and will serve as a central tool for vocabulary display and review. I will use it for quick reference during guided practice and for student-generated vocabulary activities. Seeing words and phrases displayed visibly supports retention and builds confidence when students use the language aloud. \r\n\r\nThe materials you provided will strengthen routines and increase student enthusiasm for reading and speaking German. They make the learning environment more supportive and effective, and your generosity directly contributes to a better school experience for my students.\r\n\r\nI am truly grateful for your support and the difference it makes in our classroom every day.
