My pupils, especially the youngest, are exploring their creativity in their early stage of life, developing sense of confidence as part of their growing mindset. Many of my kids have few opportunities to express their feelings, ideas, and creativity at home. The art classroom turned into the main space for children to experience art making. My 5th graders are learning the values of hues by blending primary and secondary colors with black or white. As a result, my little artists recognize and can create tints, shades and tones.\r\nPlease, take a look at the photographs of our artwork made in class for the first 2 months of school. With supporters like you, my small community can achieve fantastic artistic goals.","fullyFundedDate":1753999515908,"projectUrl":"project/elementary-art-projects-year-2526/9432349/","projectTitle":"Elementary Art Projects Year 25/26","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. V (Varriale)","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7183128_orig.jpg?crop=3706,3707,x0,y333&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1638329334816","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7183128"},{"teacherId":6804174,"projectId":9113971,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation! My class was so excited to see the new materials they would get to use. \r\n\r\nThey were very excited to try out the new pencil sharpener that works brilliantly. We have had no more interruptions because of the sharpener not working correctly! We also spent so much time looking at our new globe and discussing how Earth spins on its axis, which we've learned in Science. Now, students can really understand this and see how Earth is tilted, affecting the seasons. They have even asked to use it during free time or recess to find the countries their families are from, or find places they want to visit. \r\n\r\nThe headphones have filled an urgent need to allow many of my students to access the curriculum. Hearing articles or questions read aloud has helped many of my students who struggle academically or with learning English. They have also enjoyed using them to watch science videos and complete virtual tours in Social Studies! The Expo markers have also ignited a bit of excitement. Students are much more willing to do their work out on a whiteboard than a piece of paper and this has led to more accurate calculations and effort in math class!","fullyFundedDate":1746447388073,"projectUrl":"project/essential-learning-materials/9113971/","projectTitle":"Essential Learning Materials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Fitzgerald","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6804174"},{"teacherId":7192564,"projectId":8548287,"letterContent":"I hope this message finds you well! I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation to our \"Transforming Our Classroom with Essentials\" project. Thanks to your support, our students are experiencing an enriched learning environment, and I'm excited to share with you how the new technology and supplies are positively impacting our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe laminator and printer have been game-changers in our classroom. These tools are allowing us to create lasting, durable learning materials that students can interact with throughout the year. Laminated resources help students keep their work organized and make it easier for them to handle and reuse materials. Additionally, the printer has enabled us to print more personalized worksheets and activities that cater to different learning styles, which has been incredibly beneficial for students who need extra support.\r\n\r\nThe hot glue gun has sparked the students' creativity during hands-on projects, especially in our STEM activities. They're thrilled by the ability to bring their ideas to life with tangible, 3D models. It's inspiring to see how engaged they become when they're able to create something physical from their imaginations.\r\n\r\nThe storage cabinet has helped us keep our classroom organized, allowing students to access learning materials and supplies more independently. This not only reduces clutter but also fosters a sense of responsibility in the students as they maintain their space and belongings.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting things to witness is how certain students have really connected with these new tools. For example, a few of our more tactile learners, who often struggle with traditional assignments, have flourished with the hands-on projects made possible by the hot glue gun and printer. They've become more confident in their abilities, and their pride in their work is evident. Students who may have struggled to stay engaged with text-heavy content are now able to fully participate in creative, interactive assignments, and this has led to visible improvements in their enthusiasm for learning.\r\n\r\nAll in all, the impact of your donation goes far beyond just the materials you provided. You've given our students the opportunity to explore, create, and organize in ways that were previously unavailable to them. Every day, they are benefitting from these resources, and it's clear that the new additions have helped spark new excitement and energy in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1722963747893,"projectUrl":"project/transforming-our-classroom-with-essentia/8548287/","projectTitle":"Transforming Our Classroom with Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Trychon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7192564_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1674696567986","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-trychon"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_64013","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":377,"numTeachers":26,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":14,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":64,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"14.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":68.3,"schoolId":64013,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Union Hill School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Union Hill School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/massachusetts/worcester-public-schools/union-hill-elementary-school/64013"}
