Many of our students learn best through hands-on, interactive experiences, and this technology gives them opportunities to explore concepts in ways that traditional instruction alone cannot provide. Students are now able to practice skills at their own pace, receive immediate feedback, and collaborate with classmates in more meaningful ways. Whether they are researching, creating presentations, practicing math and reading skills, or participating in interactive lessons, the technology helps make learning more personalized and engaging.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is the opportunity to actively participate in their learning instead of simply watching or listening. They love being able to create projects, use educational apps, and explore digital tools that make lessons feel fun and relevant. Even students who are typically hesitant to participate have become more confident and eager to contribute when using the new technology. The excitement in the classroom is visible every day as students look forward to opportunities to use these tools.\r\n\r\nSeveral students, especially those who sometimes struggle with traditional learning methods, have truly flourished with this new technology. Some students who were once reluctant readers now eagerly engage with digital reading programs that provide interactive supports and encouragement. Others who struggle with focus or confidence are more willing to try challenging tasks because the technology allows them to learn independently and celebrate small successes along the way. Seeing students become more motivated, independent, and excited about learning has been one of the most rewarding outcomes of this project.","fullyFundedDate":1769607970089,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-12th-graders-with-calculators/9982444/","projectTitle":"Empowering 12th Graders with Calculators and Classroom Learning Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Manal","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9742202"},{"teacherId":7021679,"projectId":9688465,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting our project, Fresh Air, Clean Floors, and Tech Tools for Student Success. Students started every day with a Starter question in their notebooks. Some days these questions engaged with the key questions of the unit such as asking \"What is power\" which spawned a rich discussion of different types of power and what it means to use power justly. Other days, the Starter checked comprehension to support our understanding of the challenging text. Often, the Starters were in response to images related to the text such as depictions of Puritan life or stills from the film. These images engage learners of all English levels to utilize their existing English, build new vocabulary, form sentences, and engage in discourse. The easy routine of taking out their notebooks at the beginning of each class helped build these key instructional moments seamlessly into our routine.\r\n\r\nWe also used the notebooks throughout the class for comprehension checks, Exit Tickets, and RACE paragraph quiz grades. All of these components helped me understand, evaluate, and support students' comprehension and writing. Writing on paper helps students to not rely on online tools such as translation. There is also significant research that shows writing by hand improves retention. Physical resources can be less accessible than online ones and so we really appreciate the support.","fullyFundedDate":1770838991498,"projectUrl":"project/understanding-the-crucible/10087184/","projectTitle":"Understanding the Crucible","teacherDisplayName":"Mx. Being able to snap a photo and, minutes later, hold a high-quality, archival print in their hands gives them a sense of professional pride. It moves the work out of the digital \"void\" and into the classroom gallery, where their peers can celebrate their vision.\r\n\r\nNow that the weather has turned, we are taking this technology \"into the field.\" Our school is located directly across from the Springfield Armory, and we are using this historical landmark as our studio.
