While we have not printed our physical shirts just yet, our young artists in grades 1-5 are currently fully immersed in the exciting creative phase. They are using Canva to learn the fundamentals of digital design, shapes, and color layout. This technology turns abstract ideas into a fun, visual playground where elementary students can experiment safely and see their visions take shape digitally. The most exciting part of this new tool for these young students is the instant professional result. Canva gives them access to a vast library of graphics and fonts that make their ideas look amazing right away. For children who might feel frustrated or intimidated by drawing by hand, this software completely removes that barrier. They are incredibly proud of how polished and real their digital layouts already look on screen, boosting their confidence as creators.\r\nWe have already seen a huge spark in students who normally stay quiet during traditional lessons. A few of our more reserved students have completely come alive, building colorful designs and eagerly showing their screens to their friends. This design phase is building a strong foundation of digital literacy and pride at a very early age. Many couldn't wait to start practicing sight words while using the pop fidget tools, which made learning feel like a game. We are using the cards during small group reading centers. Watching them collaborate and share ideas has been inspiring; they're learning teamwork, problem-solving, and creative expression in a hands-on way.\r\n One memorable moment was when a group of fifth graders saw their first design come to life on the screen. Their faces lit up as they realized, \"We made this!\" It's more than just a shirt, t's a sense of belonging and pride that every child deserves. These experiences are helping students feel included and celebrated, regardless of financial circumstances.\r\n Our next step is to fully set up the printing process so students can see their designs transformed into wearable art. We're working on securing a dedicated computer to keep the printer running smoothly and ensure the process is efficient.
