We use the speaker to set the tone for all of our activities, playing high-tempo music during warm-ups, fitness circuits, and movement games and more mellow music during manipulative stations or cooperative challenges when more quiet focus is required. This has boosted student engagement and participation across both grade levels. Students get genuinely excited the moment the music starts, and it turns physical exertion into a more enjoyable experience for all. Some of my students who sometimes feel hesitant during PE have become more engaged than ever as they move to the beat during games. \r\n\r\nWe've also started incentivizing taking request for music through \"DJ for the day\" that students can earn by showing on-task and expected behaviors throughout class. Students also recognize when the music stops, the activity is coming to an end or another direction is about to be given. The clear audio cues and energizing environment have helped them feel more confident, focused, and included in every activity. \r\n\r\nThank you for making our gymnasium safer, more engaging, and fun for all students in PE!","fullyFundedDate":1780672929945,"projectUrl":"project/new-speaker-and-microphones-for-our-pe-c/10199190/","projectTitle":"New Speaker and Microphones for Our PE Classes","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Galaska","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10480430_orig.jpg?crop=172,172,x0,y11&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1776307413223","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10480430"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_60927","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":321,"numTeachers":22,"percentFrplEligible":22,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":80,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":9,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":4,"gradesServed":"4 - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":69.4,"schoolId":60927,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Soule Road Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Soule Road Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/massachusetts/hampden-wilbraham-regional-school-district/soule-road-elementary-school/60927"}
