This excitement around learning, even for our most reluctant learners, is incredibly powerful. The magnetic letter boards provide an easy way for teachers to make sure students are getting extra practice not only reading but also spelling. As Snow's quote states, students need to be able to picture the word in their mind in order to be able to read it quickly when they see it. Quicker recognition of words allows for faster reading, which in turn allows for improved comprehension. These magnetic letter boards have made such a difference for our students and our reading interventionists as we move towards comprehension of grade-level texts.
